1964, Autumn in Chicago. This was my 4th film, shot while waiting to go to prison for refusing to serve in the US military. Silent. B&W. I think it captures the sense of depression, of loneliness within the city. Looking back it seems almost archaic, Chicago as some kind of East Bloc country in Soviet times.

During Bob Dylan’s tour for his third LP, The Times They Are a-Changin’, released in January 1964, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation offered him a half-hour special in which to promote the album. The program, Quest, was a free-form show regularly featuring different types of artists that began in 1961 under the name Q for Quest and in 1964 was in its final year.

Alongside more detailed instructional and safety films the National Coal Board also sponsored short items such as the 'Thud and Blunder' series. Here carton slapstick is used to create a humorous reminder of safety procedures rather than any detailed explanation.

The Richmond Plan is described as being an integrated teaching program (started in the Fall of 1962) for 11th and 12th grade "average, capable students," which provides opportunity and direction for those who are interested in entering the technical fields of work. Includes interviews with: the school principal; Les Agnello (football coach and physics teacher); John Bristow and Bob Craig (technical lab instructors); Jim W. Kelly (Algebra teacher) and Jim Hurley (English teacher). Also features views of 11th and 12th grade students working, playing football and visiting the Geographical Survey headquarters in Menlo Park. The little island of Laenneken is a place where time seems to stands still. Traditional customs and age-old power relations are still in place and are unaffected by modern-day influences. Not even the foundation of a fishery cooperative has diminished the power of the two richest fishermen, Pröpping and Grabe. Both men have been bitter rivals for ages. Nevertheless, Grabe’s son Henning and Pröpping’s daughter Bärbel prepare to break with the traditions that restrict their lives, as they are had over heels in love with each other and want to marry.

Gerard Malanga has been brightly lit from the front, and has tilted his head slightly backwards, which makes his neck bulge; he holds still throughout the film, his left eye filled light.

The film unfolds as a romantic story set in the countryside, centering on a love affair between Omrah and Badr. Their relationship faces numerous obstacles rooted in strict customs and traditions, as well as malicious rumors that place both of their lives in danger.

The film is about the discovery in 1962 by V. A. Karnaukhov, G. M. Ter-Akopyan, V. G. Subbotin, and L. A. Petrov of proton radioactivity. The detection of a new type of radioactive decay of atomic nuclei – proton emission – significantly expanded our understanding of the properties of nuclei and the limits of their possible existence in nature. A fundamentally important fact is that the theoretical analysis of proton radioactivity confirmed the validity of the models widely used in traditional nuclear physics and the possibility of describing new previously unknown phenomena based on them.

The film shows the bronze door of Bernward of Hildesheim in its individual fields. The door shows Old and New Testament stages of the events of salvation: from the creation of man to the fratricide of Abel; from the angel's proclamation to Mary to the presentation of Jesus in the temple, the capture of Jesus to the encounter of the risen Christ with Mary Magdalene. Careful camera work - supported by careful lighting - succeeds in doing justice to the monumental size of the work.

He devises an advertising campaign to show teenagers--especially boys--that cigarette smoking is "cool" and that real "tough guys"l don't pay attention to the anti-smoking messages and smoke anyway.

A fine cast of actors portrays the ensuing dispute.

22 April 1964: on the eve of the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s birth, Vittorio Gassman presented a television recital featuring some of the most famous monologues from the English playwright’s works, introducing them himself with a brief commentary against the backdrop of a bare, minimalist set.

A village girl gets tricked by the landlord's son and gets lost in the city while chasing him. The result of this deception comes into existence, but the mother has no choice but to abandon her child. The child finds its way to a wealthy family and continues its life. One day, the child meets an old woman who had an accident in the hospital. She donates her blood to her, and the doctor realizes that the old woman's and the girl's blood types are a rare but similar group. The girl and mother recognize each other, and the story ends happily after many years.
