Man's ability, on the one hand, to create supreme works, in science and art, in terms of humanization in behavior, and on the other hand, he also carries within himself a "talent" for finding ever more perfect means of self-destruction. One such danger was presented with the explosion of the atomic bomb during World War II. It hinted at the potential probability of a definitive cataclysm of the entire world. Since then, man's fear for his existence, for the existence of his offspring, of the entire human race and of everything that planet Earth means, has been much more present.

Swiss journalist Peter Schmid describes his documentary as a sociological study. In his film, he takes a look behind the facade of St. Pauli. He contrasts the small group that earns a living in the entertainment industry with the many people who call St. Pauli home. The lives of the vast majority of St. Pauli’s residents are as middle-class as in any other district of Hamburg.

This sales film for TRW is aimed at large scale corporate clients for mainframe computers. The film depicts company co-founder Simon Ramo’s concept of ‘polymorphic computing’ and is based on a "doodle essay" that he made (think -- 1960s pencil driven Power Point). The film anticipates innovations in the evolution of technology from parallel processing to peer to peer file sharing and cloud computing as well as the architecture of ARPANET and the architecture of the internet. The film was presented by TRW, an American corporation which was involved in several businesses including aerospace, automotive and credit reporting.

This film traces the development of the first French nuclear bomb, from its construction to its explosion in the Sahara on February 13, 1960. This operation was called “Gerboise Bleue,” although the narrator does not mention it. At that time, nuclear weapons were possessed by three major powers: the United States, the Soviet Union, and Great Britain. In turn, France, under the responsibility of the Military Applications Division of the Atomic Energy Commission, embarked on its own nuclear testing program.
