Cinematic Era: 1959 Vintage

Each day, Man must work around the clock to produce and acquire bread: throwing the seeds into earth, helping the breeding of the corn, the corn's recolt, transport to the mills – traditional or industrial ones – manipulation of the flour into actual bread, transport to a variety of locations and consumers. And then, after the consumption, the cycle restarts.

In this short documentary by Johan van der Keuken, he films young women walking the streets of Amsterdam.

A naive youth from a provincial town journeys to Tehran with aspirations of advancement, only to become ensnared by the city's allure, ultimately returning to his hometown with nothing to show for it. This cinematic work draws its inspiration from a theatrical production titled 'The Triplets,' which was staged in 1954 at a Laleh-zar theater in Tehran.

In 1959 Hiroshi Teshigahara shot the following 16 mm footage of he and his father’s first trip to Barcelona and the outlying Catalonian countryside, including a visit to the home of Salvador Dali in Port Lligat. The footage was recorded without sound.

A young woman, on the urging of her fiancee, enters a singing contest. Then an unscrupulous promoter tries to break them up.

Foula is kicked out of her father's house when the doctor who loved her leaves her, and she ends up in a brothel. There, her brother, who is unaware that she is his sister, meets her and falls in love with her. The girl attempts suicide, but luckily for her, she is taken to the hospital where her former lover works as a doctor.

In formal attire, Ivan Vassilievich Lomov calls upon his neighbor, the bluff Stefan Stefanovich Chubukov. Chubukov fears that the prolix Lomov has come to borrow money, but is delighted when Lemov finally gets to the point and proposes to marry Chubukov's daughter Natalia. Without telling her why, Chubukov sends Natalia into the drawing room, and Lemov begins an even more roundabout proposal. Before he can make his intentions clear, Natalia takes exception to something he says, and an argument ensues. Lemov works himself into a lather. Will a funeral be required? Perhaps a neutral conversational topic, such as hunting dogs, can ease the couple past their disagreement.

Ingeborg Nyberg makes a dream trip to Italy to study singing. She drives from Stockholm in her own car. She passes Helsingborg, Helsingør and Hamburg and continues through Holland and Belgium to finally reach Italy and the final destination Milan via Paris and Nice in France. There she takes singing lessons and absorbs the country's culture.

A political film based in Latvian countryside in 1947.

Simon is a young man who has decided to make quick money by smuggling narcotics. At a meeting with his contact they are ambushed by the police. Simon runs away but loses his wallet and so supposes that his identity must now be known to the police. Kalpak, the unscrupulous man who organizes this group of smugglers insists that he and Simon to leave at once. Simon agrees to cross the border illegally. Simon's girl-friend Lena and his brother Cvetko are involved in this operation by chance. They all leave together. Lena tries to persuade Simon to give himself up to the authorities, but the arguments of Kalpak, who uses the lost wallet as a threat, are stronger. In the attempt to cross the lake in a stolen boat they are chased by the police. Kalpak gets killed, Simon is wounded and the girl Lena drops the narcotics into the lake.

The head of a department fires his employee when he finds out that the employee has dealt with a client outside of administrative regulations, and this is exactly when the employee is supposed to go propose to a girl with his family.

A young painter from La Boca discovers that his father is a millionaire. He goes to live with him, changes his life and comes back to the neighborhood.
