Cinematic Era: 1958 Vintage

This 1958 filmed version of Verdi's masterful Otello stars Mario Del Monaco, perhaps the greatest Otello of the 21st century, as the tragic moor who is consumed by jealousy thanks to the machinations of the villainous Jago.

Not unlike Casper the Friendly Ghost, little Spunky the Burro, is having a hard time finding a friend, so he takes a horse from a carousel and sets out to visit the fair with his synthetic, and non-responding, friend. Spunky tries hard to impress the merry-go-round horse various booths and exhibitions but the horse remains unimpressed...and mute. Spunky finally takes him back to where he got him.

The deception is uncovered, but what does it matter to the two fiancés, who are joyfully celebrated by the entire Escadrille and can at last look forward to their long-awaited happiness?
