The feature-length film by engineers J. Hanzelka and M. Zikmund captures how the two travelers prepared for their first trip around the world and in documentary footage describes their experiences from the first half of the trip through Africa. You will see for yourself what obstacles they had to overcome on the ravaged roads of Abyssinia and in what danger the fate of the expedition was during the daring passage through the Nubian desert. The film culminates with an ascent to the highest mountain in Africa, the extinct volcano Kilimanjaro, whose peak is covered in ice all year round.

Magician-turned-actor John Calvert, previously the suave leading man of Film Classics' "Falcon" series, is a curious choice to star in the rough-and-tumble western Gold Fever. John Bonar (Calvert) and grizzled old prospector Nugget Jack (Ralph Morgan) strike it rich, whereupon they are besieged by Bill Johnson's (Gene Roth) outlaw gang. Heavily outnumbered, our heroes are forced to rely on brain rather than brawn.

The plot reflects the figure of Pascual Contursi, tango poet. In love with a singer, he leaves his wife and son to go with her. Some time later, the singer leaves him and he composes the tango that gives the film its title.

A teenage girl is stranded by a storm on a small North Sea island, where she and a young teacher fall in love and conceive a child. Camillo Mastrocinque was one of many foreigners who came to Brazil in the 1950s to make films. The director of melodramas during the Italian fascist era directed this film, Areião (Inca Film, 1952), which could have spared Maria Della Costa. The film was renamed La priggione di sabbia to compete at the Venice Film Festival, but was rejected.

Dink figures he is smarter than the other ducks and ducklings and rather than waste his time swimming aimlessly around the pond, he floats around on a rubber raft quoting poetry. When the other ducklings are learning to fly so they can go south for the winter, Dinky lies under a shade tree sniffing the autumn air. He learns his lesson when the others fly south and he is left behind in the winter cold. But he luckily wins a free airplane-trip in a poetry contest and beats them there.

In a little village in a far-away mythical country lives an old cobble and his dog. The old man can no longer make good shoes and they have fallen upon hard times until, one night, the dog hears noise in the workshop. He finds a band of merry elves making a beautiful pair of shoes. The cobbler believes his dog made them and spreads the news. The King hears about it and orders the cobble to have the dog make 500 pairs of shoes, as the King is as fond of shoes as a former first lady of the Philippines was. The elves come to the rescue, make the shoes, and the shoe-loving King is highly pleased and makes the old cobbler a rich man.

Tembo is a 1951 American documentary film which follows the travels of hunter Howard Hill through equatorial Africa.

In the cities of Britain we can travel in time as well as space. This film chooses the England of Hogarth, Gainsborough, Robert Adam and Captain Cook. As the camera moves across outstanding monuments of their work and relics of their achievements from Syon House to Greenwich, members of the Old Vic Company speak appropriate passages from the literature of the mid-eighteenth century. The musical score was specially composed by the late Sir Arnold Bax.

This engaging Afrikaans comedy/romance is about the power of love and music to transport and inspire, and to make dreams come true – sometimes. Fanie (Frederik Burgers), a struggling producer/composer, needs to write a winning song to keep his agent happy and his company in work, but, alas, he’s lacking inspiration. Until, that is, his musical partner Ben (Al Debbo) starts dreaming – and singing in his sleep – about a beautiful girl, all in operetta style. Seizing this Cupid-sent gift, Fanie secretly tapes Ben’s songs. The delighted agent pushes for more songs to produce a full-scale musical, which means Fanie has to keep Ben dreaming, and stay awake to tape the songs. All goes well until Ben suddenly stops dreaming. Fanie’s attempts to restart the flow of inspiration fail until Cupid’s arrow comes to the rescue again – only this time, it is Fanie who falls in love.

The film, consisting of separate concert numbers of various genres, starred outstanding ensembles and masters of the arts of Moscow and Leningrad — the Symphony Orchestra of the Leningrad Philharmonic, the State The USSR Folk Dance Ensemble led by Igor Moiseev and many others.

Kassim (P. Ramlee) returns to Singapore after finishing his studies in London and is thrust into a betrothal with the daughter of his father’s benefactor, Salmah. However, Kassim has already met and fallen in love with someone who shares his interest in Persian poetry. She is Rahimah, a flower salesgirl in Singapore. They go on dates to the nursery, and spend time together (dancing) in a paradise-like garden (Alkaff Gardens). Even after Kassim returns to Kuala Lumpur to work in his benefactor’s rubber plantation, he never forsakes Rahimah and has a rendezvous with her in Singapore when the opportunity arises. Together again, they watch movies at the Rex Theatre, and vow to get married. Unfortunately, Kassim’s father insists on him marrying his benefactor’s daughter, Salmah, who is a rich and cultured girl. Kassim decides to fulfil his father’s death wish and marries Salmah. Eventually, fate brings Kassim to reunite with Rahiman again in their twilight years.
