To do this, borders must be cut, tariffs disappear and common sales markets created. The first milestones on the way to achieving this great goal are set: Marshall Plan, Schuman Plan, European Payments Union, North Atlantic Defense Organization and Council of Europe.

Aloha… and how! You’ve never seen a Burley-Q film like this one! This 1953 oddity was originally released as Oriental Vanities which does little to describe its one notable difference from all the other burlesque features: the first half of it was actually filmed on Waikiki Beach in Hawaii!

In Behind Walls (1950) Gunnar Hyllienmark described a young man imprisoned by his studies. He returns once more to the same theme in Under a Mask (1951), which focuses on the neurotic, unbalanced and compulsive state of a student, surrounded by piles of books and cigarettes. His fear of failing his yearning for liberation has induced an anxiety-ridden state of conflict, here depicted in something reminiscent of a dream collage. (filmform)

A Juvenile Court judge relates to Edie--a young girl who is appearing before him because she ran away from home with a boy who promised to marry her--the things that happen to teenagers who don't listen to their parents or other authority figures. He shows her cases where young girls have been assaulted, raped and murdered because their parents were too permissive and let them have jobs outside the home, or the girls were too defiant and thought they were "too sophisticated" for their own good. Then, to show his compassion and concern for Edie--who by this time has been reduced to a bawling, quivering wreck--he throws her in a juvenile detention hellhole for three months so she can think about "whether showing off is worth a lifetime of regrets!"

And the children love to play soldiers. This 10-minute anti-war film lost to posterity was a very loose adaptation of Franz Kafka's short story In the Penal Colony. Vesely presents the execution of a prisoner of war as a serial event that happens over and over again, ad nauseum. As of this project, Tichat worked as set designer and occasional co-author for Vesely, here also appearing in front of the camera as an actor together with H.C. Artmann. Gerhard Ruhm contributed his Musique concrete to the soundtrack.
