1950 Jim Davis short film

A Terrytoons cartoon released August 1950. Directed by Eddie Donnelly.

An old buzzard who has aspirations of having a chicken-dinner converts his trailer into a beauty shop in order to lure the hens from the barnyard hen-house. He not only lures all the hens but a rooster looking for a make-over. Dinky the Duck comes to the rescue.

Bollywood 1950

"Jingle Jangle Jungle" is an animated short about life in Africa (non-PC.) Includes a sing-a-long of "Civilization (Bongo Bongo Bongo)."

A beauty queen called Sheila Anderson wins a part in a Hollywood motion picture. The film turns out to be a cheap nudie film, she is then shunned by the theatrical community and ends up working as a nude model. Soon she is old news and struggles to get work, resulting in abject poverty.

As Word War II ends and everyone is celebrating peace, farmer Anders Svensson recieves a message from his nephew Ville who was lost during the war. Anders learns that Ville was kept prisoner in a German camp, and is now stuck in the city of Stettin, occupied by the Soviet army. He decides to get his nephew home.

A rare musical compilation, a Finnish dance film from the early 1950s, the first performances of Latin music and dance in Finland. Rumba and samba are performed by Rytmi-Veikko, Kalevi Huuskonen and Sacy Sand. The dances are directed by Veikko Niemelä and performed by the dance couple Olavi and Eeva Nieminen.

In order to completely, cleanly and completely annihilate the Kuomintang troops on the land of China, the Second Field Army led by Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping accepted Chairman Mao Zedong's order to liberate the southwest. Photographers from the Central News Documentary Film Studio traveled with the troops and used film to record scenes of the People's Liberation Army soldiers' heroic fight to liberate the whole of China. In 1950, they produced the film "The Great Southwest Song".

The Italian campaign of World War II that in the way the "Forgotten Campaign of WWII" was vital to the whole defeat of Hitler and Nazi Germany, the Korean campaign may be vital to stopping communism. The central action of the film covers the aerial bombardment of the famed monastery "Montecassino," which the Nazis had fortified and used to slow down the Allied march through Italy to France and Germany. Part of the film is told around the exploits of U. S. Army Sergeant James W. Logan, and U. S. Army Captain David Ludlum, a weather-forecasting officer. The long months of the war after the liberation of Rome are passed over, but a lot of footage dealing with the landings at Salerno, and the dreary battles and muddy conditions there---documented elsewhere by famed war-correspondent Ernie Pyle and "Stars and Stripes" cartoonist Bill Mauldin, with his "Wille and Joe" strips.

Animals filmed include camels and a calf, giraffe, a tiger and cubs, lions, elephants, crocodiles, a bear, monkeys, ostriches, parrots, puppies, flamingos and various types of antelope. There is a scene of soldiers riding laden camel carts, and also a group of soldiers marching on camels. Oxford educated, Sir Clarmont Percival Skrine (1888-1974), was a civil servant and colonial administrator. He entered the Indian Civil Service in 1912 and later was transferred to their Political Service. He served as the British consul-general in Kashgar from 1922 to 1924, Under-Secretary of State for India and agent for the Madras States from 1936 to 1939. He was a respected authority on East Persia and Chinese Central Asia.

This reportage is focused on Wilhelm Pieck’s visit in Warsaw in 1950. He was the president of East Germany between 1949 and 1960. The visit sealed diplomatic relations between the Polish People's Republic and the newly established German Democratic Republic (1949).

This film explores various tourist destinations along the famous "Rocky Mountain Rocket" line. The streamlined “Rocket” trains (numbers 7 and 8) ran from Chicago, Illinois to Denver and Colorado Springs, Colorado from 1939 to 1966. The journey was scheduled as 19.5 hours. Rock Island used an EMC E6 and EMC AB6 diesel to haul the train.
