The film Dewi Murni is an adaptation of Kalidasa’s Shakuntala. This is established through the identification of chronological events that are similar to the story of Shakuntala authored by Kalidasa. Adaptations have been made to the Indian story, transforming it to the Malay version and prominent differences are notable. The principal story of Dewi Murni remains the same whereby the main characters meet in unlikely surroundings, woo and get married. Both King Dushyanta [in Shakuntala] and King Indraloka [in Dewi Murni] lose memory of their wives (in different ways), the heroines lose their signet rings and are rejected by their respective husbands at the palace court. In both stories, the rings are discovered in a fish’s maw and upon its re-emergence, the kings’ memories of their respective wives are regained. Finally, we see the whole country matured into a nation, its traditions enriched by those of many peoples.

Jeff Moore, a high school student, has trouble controlling his emotions. An expert in the subject (though it's never explained who he is or what he's an expert in) assures the audience that Jeff's problems stem from the fact that he lets his emotions escape, instead of reining them in like everyone is supposed to. At the end, Jeff realizes that he must not let his emotions get in the way of logic and reason, and goes to a marshmallow roast with the gang.

The catastrophically dry weather of 1947 causes immense problems in the countryside. In the small village Klícov, only farmers Hánek and Bervida and the old Hromádka have water. The others must queue every day for a drop for themselves and their cattle. All the villagers lament over their previous decision to turn down the cooperative chairman Kouba's proposal to built a new village water-supply system.

Jean is reported missing during the Normandy landings. Jacques gets killed on the very last day of the conflict, leaving behind him a weeping widow.

Penniless Peter Schild looks for work when arrived in Germany. Working as a private eye he has to observe a young lady who is willing to marry an unemployed actor against the will of her parents.

This late 1940s/early 1950s rather graphic color film about carelessness and safety operating heavy machinery is presented by Caterpillar.

The Uproarious Adventures of a Band of "KRIS-MEN" from the South who took Manila by Storm.

In the early days of liberation, Battalion Commander Shen (played by Ge Zhenbang) felt that after liberation, there was no battle to fight, so he should take off his military uniform and go to work locally. The division commander (played by Liu Jia) told him that at the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the reactionaries were not willing to accept their defeat and had to underestimate the enemy. After listening carefully, he felt deeply and knew the importance of the gun and the great responsibility of their own.

The adventures of a movie stuntman when the actor he was supposed to replace is murdered.

A respectable small town in Lombardy, whose inhabitants live peacefully together with smugglers, is disturbed by the arrival of an independent female teacher. She falls in love with a smuggler and elopes with him to Milan; she becomes pregnant and returns to the town. He is mortally wounded by the frontier guards and they get married just before he dies.

This dazzling stop-motion animation provided Vorkapich with a forum to demonstrate complex perceptual theories related to the persistence of vision and phi phenomenon. The dance of objects and their movements before the camera lens–somewhat similar to Oskar Fischinger’s abstractions–illustrate many visual sensations playfully executed by Vorkapich.

The film was originally called "The fires of San Martino". Left unfinished, it was finished in 1950 with the addition of some sequences.

Of course, the critics are fooled and they give the playwright and his play all the favorable publicity and reviews. As a result, the playwright and all his friends get the opportunities they had long awaited.
