In order to come into a large inheritance, young Divina must marry her cousin Pablo. Her aunt, Milagros, hatches a plan to disguise themselves as a maid and her nephew in order to get to know him better.

Focussed on domestic activities such as cooking, tidying up, leisure time, the film portrays the daily life of a married couple living in a derelict tenement house in an impoverished area of Mikołów.

In Alt-Köstendorf in the Salzburg region, the dean, known as Seelenbräu, and the brewer Hochleithner, known in the village as Leibesbräu, are fighting for supremacy.
