'A colour sound film funded by the Koornong School in Warrandyte, Victoria. Produced to promote awareness of the school’s activities, in particular its cooperative approach to school management, the film illustrates the traditional left ideal of collective action and again deploys the rural ideal which provides a response to the problems depicted in A Place to Live and These are Our Children. Scenes include the collective building of the school, a meeting of the school’s ‘bully committee’ to discuss students’ problems, and various activities where the emphasis is on groups of people working together. The school is located in what was a rural landscape outside Melbourne and the film shows exercise, learning and craft work in this locale as particularly wholesome activities.' (Deane Williams)

The Town Crier tours the cobbled, centre gutter streets announcing midnight. The news circulates that the maiden will bestow favors on the suitor who pleases her at La Tour de Nesle. The burley character and the thin one race there and the heavy pushes the line of applicants out of the way and is pulled up to the ugly maiden's bed chamber, where he and his skinny rival perform impossible feats till they lose her favor and are dumped into the cellar. There they are chased by her, fallen after them in a sheet, before escaping.

In a freshwater pond, it's "eat or be eaten." A dragonfly larva eats a midge; a water beetle larva eats a damselfly larva. Snail larvae grow. A beetle larva eats one. Up close, we see the eating apparatus of a damselfly larva—with a retractable hook beneath mandibles. Some creatures bite and chew, others suck. A water beetle larva holds on to its prey, injects a poison that turns the victim's insides to soup, and then sucks it dry. We watch one eat a damselfly larvae and then another water beetle larva. Some have ingenious ways to camouflage themselves, like the water scorpion, and to breathe air while hunting under water. Caddisfly larvae hide in debris, then eat.

'Jeugdstorm', like 'Jongens die een vlag kunnen dragen' (by Jos Jacobs and Leo Uten from the same year), is a propaganda piece from the Catholic Chiro youth movement. The driving force behind this amateur project was Gust Geens, a Chiro leader and filmmaker from the Boechout-based film club Argos Films. A collaboration between the members of the amateur film club and the local Chiro group formed the foundation of this moralizing work, a celebration of family values and the ideals of the Catholic youth movement. Based on the adventurous youth novel Het lied van de Donau by Jesuit Father Franz Weiser, the film follows the conflict and eventual reconciliation between two Chiro boys from different social backgrounds. Jeugdstorm was filmed shortly after the war with limited resources. The movie was shot without sound and included intertitles. During screenings, 78-rpm gramophone records were played to enhance the atmosphere of the film
