Between 1942 and 1943 over 900 miles of rugged terrain in the Canadian wilderness between Dawson Creek to Fairbanks are cut down, excavated and paved for army and civilian movement. It features various scenarios about the chaotic and unpredictable nature of war, highlighting the frustrations of soldiers facing unexplained orders, logistical delays, and shifting battlefronts.

Women of the Marine Reserve Corp, on the beaches of New River, North Carolina. WW2 landing craft bring an invasion of girls to the beach. What an invasion! I'm sure the soldiers enjoyed this WW2 film of the Homefront, a morale booster in times of war.

The American fighter P-36 is compared and contrasted as the American plane most likely to be mistaken for this Japanese plane. Rudy Burckhardt shot plenty of film while he was stationed in Trinidad with the Signal Corps in the early 1940s. This short film compiles some of the choicest bits.

At the start of World War II, few ordinary soldiers knew exactly why they were fighting, or the significance of each theatre of war. Such ignorance did not boost the fighting spirit amongst the men; hence the need for education of the forces in current affairs was recognised and ABCA conceived. Officers attended courses on conducting discussions groups, and these were started as hourly sessions each week. Such was the response that ABCA rapidly expanded resulting in photographic display, wall newspapers articles written by the men themselves and an "Anglo American Brains Trust". ABCA would not only benefit the men during war time, but play an important part in post-war period during the building of the "new peace".

Nazi propaganda film depicting American President, Franklin D Roosevelt, as indifferent to the social problems in the United States, and altogether unrealistic in his war aims.

Pratima (Kanan Devi), a nurse, is persuaded by Jayant (Ganguly) to pretend to be his wife for a day, in order to convince his father Dr Dindayal (Choudhury) of his need for money. Dr Dindayal likes his new daughter-in-law very much and wants her to accompany him to the country where he runs a charitable hospital in the name of his late wife. There Dr Bhatt, Dindayal’s rival, finds out by hiring detectives that Pratima and Jayant are not married. He uses the information to try to oust Dindayal from the hospital. The solution eventually links with Pratima’s growing sense of responsibility towards Dr Dindayal’s medical endeavours.

Ancestors of music videos, YANKEE DOODLER, ROSIE THE RIVETER, and DEAR ARABELLA were made during World War II for coin-operated jukebox devices found in restaurants, bars and train stations. On built-in glass screens, they projected 16mm films of artists performing popular tunes. These examples, although not in perfect condition, are time capsules of their era.

Made during WWII

Lieutenant Gabor's plane drops intelligence officer Benkov behind enemy lines. Benkov is assisted by his sweetheart Marja, also an intelligence officer and partisan, to carry out his mission. The Gábors' next trip also takes them behind enemy lines, to photograph a hidden railway line. They prepare the shots, but are discovered, get into a firefight and have to make an emergency landing. Luckily they reach Marja's hut and Benkov hides them. The partisans discover their hiding place and Marja and Benkov are shot dead. Lieutenant Gabor covers the retreat of his comrades by sacrificing his life, so that the important recordings and Benkov's report reach their destination.

After being decorated for a meritorious act, Cándida finds herself involved in the activities of some scammers who try to use her fame.

In the difficult 30'ies, the poor working family Jensen is struggling in affording their sons education, and it ends in tragedy. The son befriends the daughter of the, not liked by the rich employer West, which sends his daughter away.

Delilah knits the hair from Samson into a hat. The hat gives its wearer super strength: Hercules, Samson, and in the modern day, the nebbishy Willoughby Wren. Willoughby decides he needs to put this power to good use, and sets about rescuing a fair maiden who is being menaced by a giant evil robot. The problem is, his hat keeps falling off at inopportune moments.

An official U.S. War Department film restricted in nature and produced by the US Army Pictorial Service, “The Japanese Army and Navy” is a black-and-white creation that “has been assembled from Japanese films and is designed for use in the Civil Affairs Training Schools conducted by The Provost Marshal General.”

This colour promotional documentary film addresses what was needed to produce the B-17 Flying Fortress, covering everyone from Boeing researchers to factory workers.

During World War II, the production of non-essential goods was kept at a minimum so that war industries could reach a maximum output. Spending power increased, but since employable men were needed by the armed forces, more workers had to be found for war industry.
