Young Percy Averhoff returns to Hamburg after a five-year stay abroad and finds that his parents have already found a bride for him. The young man however has his own ideas, and rebelliously answers a contact ad in which a girl is looking for a young man as a companion for a car trip to Southern Germany. Soon the two of them are on the way. What Percy doesn't know is that the damsel is none other than the girl his parents have chosen for him.

Two cats housed in a glass box, one of which had received a small amount of atropine in the preliminary experiment, are exposed to ether vapors with the result that only the animal which had not been pretreated began to salivate (profusely).

A bum is sleeping by the road when Scrappy roars up on his motorcycle -- he's a messenger in this cartoon -- to give him a telegram. His uncle has died and left him a million. While he goes into conniptions over his newfound wealth, Scrappy points out the word he missed. His uncle has left him a million cats. The bum doesn't listen, but begins to spend his wealth, telling everyone to send him the bill.

The child star, Jerry Rosenberg (Ross) gives a memorable performance as the son Benny and the film introduces two European stars Fannina Rubina and Gustav Berger. The plot centers on the story of a stage couple that develops marital problems due to the demands of the theatre. The husband, whose career is failing, insists that the wife stay home to tend their young son. The subplot focuses on the plight of a woman who chooses her career over family obligations.

Antique dealer Samek lives a bachelor life. He financially helps his housekeeper raise her daughter Mána, who is learning to be a hairdresser in the countryside. On the recommendation of matchmaker Mudra, Samek decides to get married. Mána returns to Prague and Samek, who has not seen her for a long time, is enchanted by her charm. Mána has the opportunity to get a nice job, but she lacks knowledge of German. Samek offers to teach her while they go for walks together. During a German conversation on Petřín Hill, Mána catches the eye of electrician Vašek, who falls in love with her. He thinks that Mána does not know Czech, so he buys a German textbook so that he can speak to her. Soon the opportunity arises and the two young people confess their love. Samek is about to propose marriage to Mána. But Mána prevents him. She confides in him about her love and asks him to give Vašek a job...

A capricious rich woman has fun while humiliating a poor musician, who becomes famous thanks to his compositions, and in an accusation of plagiarism he manages to ridicule the her.

The soldier Sjur brings home Dagmar, a city girl, with whom he is engaged to be married. Sjur's old girlfriend hates this and finds Dagmar flirting with others. One day Dagmar is offered money to leave Sjur.

Popeye, feeling sorry for the puppies in the window of Olive Oyl's pet shop, buys all the animals (mostly dogs) and sets them free. A parrot declines to go, singing the title song to explain why it likes it just fine in the shop. Meanwhile, the freed dogs are not faring well.

The young Count Józio Lulewicz leads a rather dissolute life. At the urging of his friends, he tries to extract a large sum of money from his mother to start an operetta. When she refuses, he defiantly applies to a shoemaker for a job as a terminator. The distraught countess agrees to give her son the money he needs, but Józio is already head over heels in love with his boss's daughter and has no intention of giving up his new job.

The factory owner Hložek is in a constant dispute with his son Jiří. Jiří wants to modernize the factory, but his father is afraid that the new machines will deprive the workers of their jobs. News of the factory modernization divides the employees into two hostile camps. To prevent unrest, Hložek offers his son money from his mother's inheritance in exchange for his departure. Jiří's biggest opponents include two older employees of the company - the correspondent Málek and the accountant Mazara...
