The daughter of a pineapple plantation owner in Hawaii sets her sights on a married English engineer.

Luke Beamish is the engineer of the Isobel, an old iron steed, and Cannonball Casey handles the throttle of the Mogul, a modern locomotive. Cannonball falls in love with Doris, Luke's daughter, who is greatly admired by Jack Sweeney, the railroad president's son. Doris rejects Casey's affections, considering him a bully, and consequently Casey challenges Jack to a wrestling match at the picnic.

The film follows the comic (mis)adventures of a poor street musician, who is roped into posing as an eccentric nobleman. He and his antics are rapturously received by the members of a bourgeois family desperate to mingle with the aristocracy. The daughter of the family takes a fancy to the baron (in reality, merely a “joke baron”), assuming him to be immensely wealthy.

Young husband Jerry, a clerk, loses his job, and in order to bring money into the house, his wife Tamara goes back to her old job as a dancer in the Follies. The husband doesn't like the idea at all, and they wind up separating. One night the clerk and his friend, an inventor, are dining at a restaurant, and the inventor is lamenting that he has a great invention but can't get in to see a millionaire named Hammersley in order get get financial backing. They don't know that Hammersley happens to be sitting at the next table. The three strike up a conversation and become friends. However, there's another thing Jerry also doesn't know--Hammersley is in love with Tamara and, in fact, she is going to his house that night to see him.

Mary and Eva are best friends, although they couldn't be more different. Armand, Mary's fiancee, falls in love with the seductive Eva, who is busy becoming a revue star. When Eva fails and loses her money, Armand tries to help her out.

An American banker goes to a small Balkan country looking to invest his bank's money and shore up the country's weak economy in order to maximize the return on their investment. Towards that end he befriends the country's king and they come up with a scheme to get the Crown Prince married, a prospect not particularly appealing to the Crown Prince--until he sees the beautiful cabaret dancer the pair has picked for him to marry.

It's the 17th century, when social antagonism is at its peak. The poverty of peasants and poor Cossacks is opposed to the lavish lifestyle of the Ukrainian and Polish noblemen, priests, and Cossack officers. Cossacks fight off Tatars’ attacks, however, they start to realise that the real enemy is much closer. Taras Triasylo raises Cossacks to help the rebellious peasants.

Freedom-loving Mykola Dzheria goes away from the village because of poverty and villainage. He leaves his senior parents, his young wife Nemydora and escapes to the sugar-mill. His friend dies because of slave work. Mykola goes to the Dniester reed beds. Working with other escapees, Mykola falls in love with the daughter of the cooperative leader. The girl also likes the handsome guy. However, their fate is decided by the landlord’s servants; they set the reed beds on fire, shackle Mykola and take him to Verbivka. The film was released on 01 April 1927 in Kyiv and on 24 May 1928 in Moscow. The film is lost.

Pete Clark, publicity manager for Henly soap, concocts a promotional contest requiring entrants to fly nonstop from California to Hawaii. Believing such a flight to be impossible, Peter offers $100,000 of the company's money as the prize. However, after aviator Charles Lindbergh crosses the Atlantic Ocean, Pete decides to enter the race himself to collect the prize money and save himself from disgrace. After a series of amusing stunts, Pete is the first to reach Hawaii, thereby winning the admiration of Violet, the boss's daughter.

She leaves home ashamed of how her mother paid for her expensive schooling. A reconciliation re-unites mother and daughter after the mother saves her from a loveless marriage.

The film explores the journey of Nora Dowen as she rises to fame and stardom, facing the challenges and temptations that come with the industry.

Although the twins Flora and Dora attend the School of Sculpture, their real calling lies in gymnastics. They decide to open an “Institute of Strength and Beauty”, which does not go down well with Uncle Brown, who finances their numerous business adventures. Cameraman Eddie is sent to photograph a socialite at a private lecture on morals. The young woman's guardian will have none of it however, and Eddie resorts to a number of deceptions in order to get a picture.

An attractive heiress, Carla (May McAvoy), and David (Ralph Graves), a successful artist, fall in love following an automobile accident. and are married. Their idyll is interrupted by a misunderstanding and she gets a Reno-quickie divorce. Years later a chance meeting brings them together.

Serious university co-ed Alice Smith, is wholly engrossed, it would appear, in chasing butterflies and rare insects under the guidance of her friend, Mr. Spangle, Ph. D., though she secretly yearns to be an athlete and thus win the admiration of Jerry Marvin, a popular schoolmate. She takes up swimming, making herself the campus joke because of her ideas on the subject.

Julia, Myrtle, Fanny, and Jane - all chorus girls, after weeks of rehearsing for a show, find themselves stranded when the manager is broke. Evicted for not paying the rent, they try various schemes to get food and lodging.

Attracted by his wealth, avaricious Germaine marries D'Artois, then leaves him for a more sophisticated man. D'Artois retaliates by moving to the city and learning the proper social graces. His new life style proves to be too expensive for him, and at the end he is left with nothing but one suit of evening clothes and his now contrite wife.

Elsie Peyton’s parents favor two different men for her. Dad likes Bruce Farney, as does Elsie while Mom prefers Bob Howard. The domineering Mrs. Peyton sees to it that football player Bruce is discouraged from taking Elsie to the game. Bruce stops in a barbershop where Minette, the manicurist flirts with him to make barber Ed jealous. Disappointed when he sees Elsie with Bob at the game Bruce follows them in his car. Meanwhile, Mrs. Peyton calls Minette to the house for a manicure. When the trio arrive from the game the house is suddenly placed under a 2-week quarantine for smallpox. Hilarious complications ensue as Bruce is obliged to room with his rival, but by a clever trick Bruce marries Elsie despite the quarantine.

Bebe Daniels was at the peak of her silent stardom when she appeared in this comedy, which was really more slapstick than farce. Ginette (Daniels) is a waitress at Pierre's café. She is in love with Lucien (Douglas Gilmore) and hates getting attention from anyone else. Whenever another man tries to kiss her, she angrily starts throwing glassware. The restaurant's patrons find this amusing, and Leon Lambert (Henry Kolker) makes a bet that he will be able to kiss her. (Janiss Garza)

Fire chief Amos McCarthy, a confirmed misogynist, counsels his nephew Harry Howells to avoid matrimony at all costs. Still, the lovestruck Harry is determined to marry his sweetheart Ethel. All that changes, though, when it turns out Ethel is a faithless gold-digger. Ambitious Rosemary Merton ( Olive Borden ), agrees to pose in the studio of Larry Kane ( Ben Bard ), a depraved artist, but she refuses to do so in the nude. However, Kane makes it appear in the portrait that she posed in that manner, and she is disgraced when local newspapers print the picture. She is eventually exonerated by the intervention of Sloan Whitney ( Clifford Holland ), her wealthy young sweetheart; and Rosemary makes the sacrifice of ambition for love.

Although the act is a success, Babe is disillusioned to find Lonnie, a fellow worker who has been romancing her, stealing her money and making overtures to Big Bertha, the hard-boiled club hostess.

Tom Sinclair sets out to clear his fiancée's father after he is wrongfully convicted and sentenced to hang for a murder actually committed by Tom's treacherous cousin, Boris Morton.

Only the first reel is known to survive. Bill and Jennie marry over his aunt's objections. As the couple leaves on their honeymoon, his aunt shows up to chaperon. A luggage mix-up causes jealousy and suspicion.

Fired for crashing his aeroplane into his employer's ranch, Tom Mix is elected sheriff in a town with, as a title stated, "a high mortality rate among sheriffs." Mix, of course, prevails against almost impossible odds, at one point cornering a gang of cutthroats holding leading lady Dorothy Dwan captive in the crater of a volcano about to erupt.

Steve Lannon is a retired gunman and reformed-outlaw who has left his ranch and is living in seclusion in San Francisco. He receives word that rustlers are on the rampage in the area of his ranch, and have stolen his horse, Silver. Steve returns to Nevada to take care of this matter.

Julius wins a bronc-riding contest at the rodeo. However, Pete steals his prize money, so Julius must go after him to get it back.

Irish contractor McFadden and Scottish barber McTavish become fast friends, and McTavish's son Jock, meets and falls in love with McFadden's daughter Mary Ellen. McFadden, having increased his store of worldly goods, sends his daughter to a finishing school, to young Jock's dismay. McFadden also provokes frequent outbursts from McTavish, whose outlook on life is the antithesis of his own. McFadden's ambition to complete a flat building is well underway when he suddenly finds himself in financial straits; when McTavish secretly helps him out, all eventually works out well for the friends and the young lovers.

A new student at Washington College undergoes hazing, college football, dirty tricks by the rival team and a romance with a co-ed from Betsy Ross College.

Heralded as a "Universal Thrill Feature," this minor outdoor melodrama starred Dynamite, one of canine phenomenon Rin Tin Tin's legion of imitators. Veteran actor Edmund Cobb headed the human cast as Captain Tom Grant, a Texas ranger impersonating an outlaw in order to infiltrate a gang of smugglers.

Engaged to middle-aged Eugene O'Brien, Alberta Vaughn develops a yen for O'Brien's handsome younger brother Stanley Taylor. But when Taylor succumbs to her charms, she spurns him with a severe tongue-lashing. Understandably confused, the mild-mannered Taylor turns nasty, causing a rift between himself and O'Brien. The two brothers are reconciled when one saves the other from a burning building.

Caterpillar-tractor operator Tom Roberts' mission is to deliver a fragile cargo of dynamite, to be denoted for the purposes of redirecting an anticipated flood.

Sheriff is aided by Laramie who pretends to be an outlaw to infiltrate a gang of bootleggers. Laramie is attracted to Ellen, who is trying to activate an old mine. He helps her with the mine and captures the bootleggers.

October reflects a general attempt in Russia to sustain the frenzy and dynamism of revolutionary fervour. This attempt increased in scale and ambition as they pushed it further, resulting in the theatricalisation of life. In other words, the boundaries between real events and fabricated drama became blurred as the portrayal of life became more exaggerated. It is important to remember that the film does not represent what actually happened during the 1917 Revolution, but is rather an adaptation.

Charley asks for his girlfriend's hand in marriage, but her father, the police chief, angrily refuses to allow her to marry anyone who is not himself a policeman. Charley then decides to join the police force, so that he can win her. But when he applies, he is rejected because he is too small. Charley doesn't give up, and he soon thinks of a way to avoid the size restriction - but simply joining the force is only the first challenge that he has to face.
