One of the first attempts to adapt Wagner's opera to the screen. The film tells the story of Lohengrin, the mysterious knight who arrives to defend Elsa, the woman accused of murdering her brother. Elsa's faith in Lohengrin is tested when she disobeys his one command not to ask about his identity, with the hero having to leave when his secret is tragically discovered.
