The Reproducing Garden

Using the concept of a ‘regulated house’, the work compares residential land undevelopable under Japanese building codes with laws restricting same-sex marriage. Artists Marina Lisa Komiya and Chihiro Suzuki embrace queerness and challenge heteronormativity by creating a garden rather than a conventional home.
