Ziad and Rama's maid predicts, by reading the coffee cup, that a catastrophe will happen to them, whereupon Jamal, the husband of Rama's late mother, pressures her into selling her palace to him, threatening to tell Ziad that she has had a hysterectomy and hid the matter from him.
