Mister Rogers shows pictures of brass instruments and records their sounds. He visits Sam Pilafian (tuba), Dave Ohanian (French horn), Rolf Smedvig and Charles Lewis Jr. (trumpets), and Scott Hartman (slide trombone) as they play together as Empire Brass. Back home, he reviews the recordings and notes the instruments are expensive. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, the castle is decorated for the bass violin festival, and fanfare players speak one word at a time while playing together. Back home, Mister Rogers makes a paper cone hat and recalls having pretend parades as a boy.
