"I substituted an escalator with the The Atrocity Exhibition by J. G. Ballard and clung there with my camera. Zooming in, I plunged into its mechanical movement: the collision of gaze against image, metal against metal, the moment of insertion… The erotic to-and-fro rhythm of the montage proceeds, as if to impale itself in these cathode lines which radiate… in these tangled phantasms."
