Was it her father (a property owner who wants to develop a "sacred" site), the protestors (Viking revivalists against the development), her University advisor (whom she may have been filing sexual harassment charges against) or someone else? Niklas is feeling neglected as Emma (a teacher and close friend of the family) has come to stay for awhile with her newborn baby, taking Ida's attention and playtime.
