Romeo, a poor kid living in a Swiss village, bravely sells himself into servitude as a chimney sweep in order to save his family. On his way to Milan he meets a mysterious boy named Alfredo, and they become fast friends. Life as a chimney sweep is hard and dangerous. But together, and with the help of some new friends, Romeo and Alfredo find themselves striving for a better life.

Maki Maehara, the class outcast, finally makes his first friend: Umi Asanagi, the second-prettiest girl in class and the center of everyone’s attention. He’s convinced she’s out of his league, but as their unlikely friendship grows, Maki starts to wonder…could there be more than just friendship between them?

The two begin hanging out and slowly, as time goes by, Tomoya finds his life shifting in a new direction.

After the remote control to his boarding house's only air conditioning unit is inadvertently destroyed by spilled cola, "I" devises a plan to return to yesterday in a time machine to recover the remote before it breaks. However, his prankster friend Ozu cannot resist playing with past events, even if it means bringing the universe to the brink of destruction. Now "I" finds himself racing through time to avoid disaster.
