The combination of veteran comedians and contemporary comedians makes this program the best platform in producing new, fresh and innovative performances and comedy works. For the 2011 edition, comedians who have participated in comedy competitions are not allowed to compete in Maharaja Lawak Mega 2011 as an appreciation and to give existing comedians a chance to reinvent themselves in the industry. A total of 17 participants representing their respective countries, namely 12 comedians from Malaysia, 3 comedians from Indonesia and 2 comedians from Singapore participated in Maharaja Lawak Mega.

Takeshi's Castle

Takeshi's Castle was a Japanese game show that aired between 1986 and 1990 on the Tokyo Broadcasting System. It featured the Japanese actor Takeshi Kitano as a count who owns a castle and sets up difficult challenges for players to get to him.
