Set against the backdrop of massive economic growth in the 1990s, the story follows A Bao, a self-made millionaire and his journey from being a young opportunist with a troubled past to accumulating dazzling wealth in the city of Shanghai. It also follows his entanglement with four women who represent the pursuits of his life: adventure, honour, love and innocence.

It tells the story of Wang Lin, an ordinary young man in the countryside, who is moved by his heart and cultivates against immortality. His pursuit is not only for longevity, but also for getting rid of the ants behind it. He firmly believed in human beings and entered the path of cultivation with mediocre qualifications. After experiencing ups and downs, with his wise mind, he gradually reached the pinnacle and became famous in the cultivation world with his own strength.

Han Li, an ordinary, poor boy from a mountain village, joins a small martial arts sect by chance. Despite his mediocre talent, he eventually cultivates himself into an immortal through hard work and careful planning.
