Someone once asked me _"Between you and me, in a hundred words, where do you think The List rates in the history of short films?"_
I had to take a moment but once I had I answered
_"Well... um... big question, but, to me The List is the finest short film of them all. Certainly the most popular, greatest film of all time. The most beloved, The command of action most magnificent. It transformed the pain of our tormented political society into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray, but to use passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world, no film had ever done it before. Perhaps no one ever will again. To my mind, that strange, wild film who roamed the Milford Weir of Carlow was not only the world's greatest film, but also one of the greatest piece of art to ever exist."_
And I shall say no more
