This movie is black-and-white, it's sad, it's brutal sometimes, and yet it's one of the most beautiful movies I've ever watched. Elijah Canlas rightly earned international recognition and best-actor awards for his outstanding portrayal of an HIV-infected boy, the movie itself gained prizes for the unvarnished description of the social reality in the Philippines. Highly recommended
