祇園物語　春怨

A geisha in the Gion district of Kyoto feels obliged to help her lover when he asks to stay with her after going bankrupt and leaving his wife. However, her younger sister opposes this, thinking that they should both find wealthy patrons to support them.

Rei is a college student in the midst of finding a job. She confesses her love to Mikio, a senior whom she admires. Mikio soon demands that she perform perverted acts.

In 1923, teenager Kim Shun-Pei moves from Cheju Island, in South Korea, to Osaka, in Japan. Along the years, he becomes a cruel, greedy and violent man and builds a factory of kamaboko, processed seafood products, in his poor Korean-Japanese community exploiting his employees.

Seibei Iguchi leads a difficult life as a low ranking samurai at the turn of the nineteenth century. A widower with a meager income, Seibei struggles to take care of his two daughters and senile mother. New prospects seem to open up when the beautiful Tomoe, a childhood friend, comes back into he and his daughters' life, but as the Japanese feudal system unravels, Seibei is still bound by the code of honor of the samurai and by his own sense of social precedence. How can he find a way to do what is best for those he loves?

สร้างอิงจากเรื่องจริงของเมือง เอลมอร์ ซิตี้ ในโอ๊คกลาโฮ๊ม่า ที่ห้ามเต้นรำ ห้ามเปิดเพลงร็อก มาเป็นเวลาร้อยปีแล้ว วันดีคืนดีก็มีหนุ่มต่างเมืองที่ชื่อ เร็น (เควิน เบคอน) ที่ย้ายมากับแม่ พยายามปฏิวัติเรื่องนี้โดยนำพระคัมภีร์ไบเบิ้ลมาเถียงกับคณะเทศมนตรีของเมืองที่ออกกฏเหล่านี้ออกมา โดยหัวแรงใหญ่ที่ต่อต้านเรื่องของเพลงร็อก เพลงเสียงดัง และการเต้นรำนั้นก็คือ โบสถ์และท่านสาธุคุณประจำเมือง ซึ่งสุดท้าย โบสถ์ก็ยอมรับกับสิ่งที่เด็กหนุ่มผู้นี้เอามาเถียง เพราะเขาว่า พระเจ้ายังบอกให้บรรดาสาวกเต้นเพื่อลืมทุกข์ เต้นเพื่อฉลอง และเต้นเพื่อเป็นเกียรติแก่พระองค์ เลยเป็นอันว่า ในปี 1980 เมืองนี้ก็เลยมีการเต้นรำขึ้นมาอีกครั้ง และมีการจัดงานพรอมหรืองานลาจากชีวิตมัธยมเป็นครั้งแรกขึ้นมาด้วย
