พวกของซาโตชิได้เดินทางไปยังเมือง “เดเสิร์ตซิตี้” และได้พบกับโปเกมอนมายา “ฮูปา” (ร่างผนึก) และหญิงสาวที่ชื่อว่า “แมรี” แต่ขณที่กำลังสนทนากันนั้น “บัลซา”พี่ชายของแมรีก็ได้ปรากฏตัวขึ้นพร้อมกับเปีด“คนโทสะกดพลัง”ออกทำให้สิ่งชั่วร้ายในนั้นเริ่มกลืนกินร่างของฮูปา แต่โชคดีที่แมรีมีสติ และสามารถสะกดพลังของฮูปาเอาไว้ได้แต่แก็งร็อคเก็ตกลับเข้าใจผิดว่าคนโทนั้นคืออุปกรณ์เพิ่มพลังโปเกมอนจึงได้ขโมยคนโมยคนโทไปและเปิดมันออกทำให้พลังชั่วร้ายเริ่มกลืนกินร่างของฮูปาอีกครั้ง ฮูปาจะขัดขืนการครอบงำจากพลังที่ชั่วร้ายได้หรือไม่และการต่อสู้ของเหล่าโปเกมอนในตำนานที่มีชะตากรรมของโลกเป็นเดิมพันจะจบลงเช่นใด ?!!
