ผ่านมาสามปีแล้วนับตั้งแต่ผู้นำนาซีคนสำคัญที่สุดถูกพิจารณาคดี การพิจารณาคดีครั้งนี้เป็นเรื่องเกี่ยวกับผู้พิพากษา 4 คนที่ใช้ตำแหน่งของตนเพื่อดำเนินนโยบายการทำหมันและทำความสะอาดของนาซี แดน เฮย์วูด อดีตผู้พิพากษาชาวอเมริกันมีงานที่น่ากลัวรออยู่ข้างหน้า สงครามเย็นกำลังทวีความรุนแรงขึ้นและไม่มีใครต้องการการพิจารณาคดีอีกต่อไป เพราะเยอรมนีและรัฐบาลพันธมิตรต้องการลืมเรื่องในอดีต แต่คำถามที่ศาลต้องตัดสินใจคือสิ่งนั้นถูกต้องหรือไม่
