During the Allied retreat on Dunkirk in May 1940, 99 captured English soldiers and officers were shot by an SS unit in a French village. The only survivor of the massacre Albert Pooley stakes health and life to find the murderer of his comrades. The television film shows the international solidarity of ordinary people, who are brought together by the memory of a terrible war crime and make this crime atone for. Uwe is a chemistry student and works as an excavator driver on various construction sites at weekends. One weekend, he meets the nursery nurse Gabi. As it turns out later, they owe their encounter to the daughter of the construction site brigadier Trunzer. But it doesn't stop at this one encounter and the resulting flirtation, as the two fall in love within a very short time. On another weekend, Uwe accompanies Gabi to visit her family. When construction site brigadier Trunzer returns from vacation a few days later, he first asks Uwe where he has been during his absence, to which Uwe replies: "I was in Honolulu - bet?".

Mecklenburg, 19th century. For generations, the Brand family of farmers has worked a piece of land as tenants of the baron, who owns almost all of the village's land. The baron himself comes from a family of farmers who became rich through corruption and were ennobled. He is the absolute potentate, no one dares to contradict him, he takes what he wants and stops at nothing in his excesses. At the same time, he is the center of petty bourgeois, bigoted social life. Johann, the stable boy, wants to marry Mariken Brand and asks the baron for a piece of land so that he can build a life of his own. But the lord is harsh, not only refusing him the land, but also increasing the rent. Johann rebels, trying to rouse the farmers in the village from their lethargy—in vain. Only when Mariken dies does the mood change. A peasant uprising breaks out, and Johann kills the baron.

Martin′s and his girlfriend′s Kathrin′s childhood comes to an abrupt end in 1920, when their Mecklenburg village is drawn into the events surrounding the Kapp putsch. By accident, Martin discovers a charge of weapons that land owner von Bröder had put away for the reactionary forces, and gives them to the workers in the city. When the village starts to organize a strike against the putsch, soldiers arrive at the village to hold down the residents of the village.

Karin, a well-known and loved midwife in her early forties, receives a high-order decoration from the state. While still overwhelmed with happiness about this honor, she is faced with a difficult decision when she encounters a young women who claims to be her daughter.

Hoffi is starting fresh after his release from prison. He travels with his brother to different construction sites in search of Urban, an acquaintance and role model he met during a brief hospital stay. Along the way, Hoffi meets Gila, who sees beyond his past in prison. Despite disapproval from her family, Gila decides to build a relationship and future with Hoffi, but Hoffi initially hesitates at this responsibility. It takes the encouragement of his workers’ brigade for Hoffi to realize his mistake and give his relationship with Gila a chance.

One day, the happily married Karl Lehmann is asked by his single colleague, Mrs. Schmidt, for an unusual service: She wants a child. Lehmann is willing to help. His wife Inge and Mrs. Schmidt have a child at the same time, and since the women like each other, they make an agreement. They share Karl Lehmann. One week Inge gets him, one week Mrs. Schmidt - always alternating. It could be nice if it weren't for the prudish, shocked or even envious people around them. However, some see it in a positive light. A Mr. Schmidt is interested in Inge's week off and a colleague Lehmann is interested in Mrs. Schmidt's week off. And it's not long before Mr. Karl Lehmann is booted out and seeks refuge with a waitress.

Three gangsters overpower a night watchman and try to break into a safe. Opening the door triggers an alarm and they flee through the window without any loot. Their boss at ZEG (Zentrale Einbruchs-Gesellschaft) m.b.H. is furious with them. Tommy points out an old method, and Ricky recommends the new "occupier way". They disguise themselves as American soldiers and take part in the charity bazaar of the Privy Councillor von Lambert. There they organize a parlour game in which all those present place their valuables on a table around which they march. Then the lights go out. To the horror of the guests, the three "occupiers" disappear with all their jewelry and money.

Vienna in March 1945: seven people - three women, three men and a child - are spilled in a basement after a bomb attack. First, the emergency situation welds people together as you depend on each other. But through the question of who is responsible for this misfortune, it comes to hatred and enmity. A deserted soldier shoots a physicist convinced by the ideas of fascism when he wants to blow up the cellar...

A Saxon village in 1792: While the Prussians go against France, the haymaking takes place in the village and the resolute Marthe catches her daughter Ev with the village blacksmith Ruprecht in the hay.

For the corpulent nobleman Sir John Falstaff, the inn in the small English town of Windsor is the best of all places. Here he can indulge in excessive dining and intemperate drinking, as well as swagger and boast about his adventures, particularly those of an amorous nature. At present, he has designs on the two young women, Mistress Reich and Fluth, who, in turn, lead the paunchy protagonist mightily by the nose.

The pretty young crane operator Vera is the only woman in a team of dock workers at the overseas port of Rostock. She has to hold her own against her male colleagues. Fortunately, she has the support of her grandfather, who is the porter at the girls' hostel where Vera lives. Working with the impulsive Norbert, who promptly falls in love with Vera, is particularly tense. She much prefers the sensible and responsible Christian. Who will win her heart?

Oliver is in the 4th grade. He hasn't been paying attention in magic class and gets a big, fat five on a test. He has to have the work signed by his parents, but he is ashamed and doesn't want to cause his parents any grief. So he tries to get rid of the five with magic or at least turn it into a three. He manages to create talking guinea pigs and singing geese, but the five remains. The other children are already angry with him because he has no time to play with all the magic exercises. And so he decides to confess his mishap to his parents. His mother shows him how he can turn the five into a better grade - and that has to do with learning.

The television play by Werner Bernhardy depicts episodes from the life of Heinrich Zille as well as his much-praised "Milljöh". It tells of Zille's dismissal from the Berlin Photographic Society, of Kommerzienrat Hübel and his wife, of Zille's unreal, loyal friend Gustav Nogler, in whose role the experiences, attitudes and characteristics of many people from those years were incorporated, and of many other Berlin characters.

Under political pressure, a West German radio station stages a radio play about a Russian invasion of West Germany. A handsome fee convinced the unemployed Anton Wiesel to take on the direction. At the same time, the driver Harry Kyritz received an inheritance: a decrepit barge with which he intends to become an entrepreneur. His acquaintance with Madeleine Müller, the daughter of a coal wholesaler, comes at just the right time. But so does Mr. Müller, because he is broke. So he throws a big party to sell his daughter as his last profitable asset. Harry has a good chance when the radio plays a radio play about a Russian robbery. The guests take it as a factual report and flee to the cellar. Harry reveals his true financial situation, but Müller accepts him anyway - as a model worker for the Russians. But when the mistake is revealed, Harry is out of the running in favor of a wealthier son-in-law.

A new world full of excitement and temptation opens up for 18-year-old Erika when her father flees from Krüselin, a small village in Brandenburg, to West Berlin, taking his daughter with him. Her uncle's luxurious house, the turbulence of life in the big city, and her cousin's progressive thinking and quick wit all turn her head at first. But behind all this glitter and tinsel lurks the cold, hard world of money and Erika begins to feel homesick for the town where she grew up and for Rolf, her first real boyfriend.

A Saturday evening dance in the village pub is interrupted when the barn of local farmer Paul Gäbler catches on fire. The farmer himself is soon found – hanged. Sawmill owner Züllich claims that Gäbler committed suicide because he was forced to join an agricultural production cooperative, but others are convinced Gäbler was murdered. Officers Schneider and Anders must navigate their way through a complex maze of personal and political motivations in order to reconstruct the crime.

In 1929 Berlin, the progressive editor-in-chief Bornstein is on trial for libel. An article in his magazine attempted to uncover the role that Reichsanwalt Jörns had played ten years earlier in the "clarification" of the murders of Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht. The article explained that the then court martial judge knowingly covered up for the murderers and delayed the trial. At the trial, the testimony of witnesses succeeded in proving the truth of the publication and exposing those behind the murders as those who were preparing fascism.

On a barren and stormy island, fishing families eke out a meager existence on what they can catch during summer, and what washes ashore during winter. But little has been washing ashore of late, and their situation worsens. Elders recall how twenty years ago, when the lighthouse keeper’s beacon went dark, a cargo ship broke apart on the cliffs. It proved a bountiful accident for the fishermen. Today people on the island view the conscientious lighthouse keepers with evil hungry eyes...

Aschenbrödel (Cinderella), the fairy tale, is a fantastic mixture of the miraculous and the everyday, based on the well-known folk tale by the Brothers Grimm. The film is based on the book of the same name by Evgeny Schwartz, who adapted the fairy tale. The miracles created by Grimm are transformed by Schwartz, who makes it clear that the greatest miracle is love.

In each of the valleys stretching to the sides of the river, a goat lives. Both animals consider themselves unsurpassable. One day the goats, finely groomed, go for a walk. They meet on the narrow bridge. Each is indignant at the other, that this one wants to be the most beautiful. Both goats decide to ignore each other. With their heads turned haughtily away, they bump into each other on the middle of the bridge and fall into the water together.

In 1523, young Thomas Müntzer arrives with his wife Ottilie in the Thuringian village Allstedt to assume the rectorate. As a follower of Luther′s teachings, he finds in the Bible not only reasons for clerical, but also for secular reforms. But when Luther turns away from the rural population after a discord with Müntzer, it is Müntzer who becomes the peoples′ spokesman. He is forced to go to Southern Germany, where he convenes with revolting farmers. But his way leads him back to Thuringia. In 1525, he and Heinrich Pfeiffer form the centre of the Thuringian peasant uprising in Mühlhausen, but their success is diminished by the fact that peasants and craftsmen don′t seem to be able to work together. In Frankenhausen, Müntzer becomes the leader of a peasants′ army that is set to fighting the ruler′s army – and sustains a devastating loss. Müntzer is arrested and sentenced to death by decapitation for his insurgency.

Antwerp at the end of the 16th century. For the second time, the city falls into the hands of the plundering and murdering Spaniards. Jan and Myga are just ten years old. While Myga's father tries to come to terms with the Spaniards, Jan leaves the occupied country with his father. When Jan has grown into a young man, he joins the Geusen and is entrusted with the best ship as helmsman, the "Black Galley". He survives numerous battles and dangers, but one day he is captured by the Spanish. He frees not only himself but also his beloved Myga from the hands of the enemy. In 1609, the Spaniards are forced to finally recognize the independence of the northern provinces.

A locomotive journey traversing the North to the South of the German Democratic Republic on the eve of its dissolution. Labourers, punks, mothers, intellectuals, young and old are implored to reflect on their life choices, the sacrifices they've made, and their place in the world. Despite everything, hope persists.

A young woman does everything she can to catch the eye of her chosen one. In the end, she even goes into the water - wearing a diving suit. A cheerful underwater love story for GDR television, which also casually promotes the diving section of the pre-military Society for Sport and Technology in the GDR.

Paul Schulte takes a spa stay on the Baltic Sea to have his heart condition treated. His wife Barbara accompanies him and finds interest in the valuable art objects in a nearby church. Together with her accomplice and lover Klaus Grunow, she plans to break into the church. But Paul Schulte sees through his wife's plans and tries to dissuade her. One morning, Paul Schulte is found dead.

Co-pilot Horst Schubert is a braggart and a true Don Juan. Thus, he tells young Ilse that he is in fact an "aircraft commander". This assertion brings about an embarrassing situation, for he suddenly meets her onboard his new work place, an IL-14 charter plane where Ilse acts as a stewardess. It gets worse, however: During a stop in Varna the police appear because Horst’s former lover Madelon has vanished. At home, meanwhile, his landlady has her hands full with her lodger’s current and former playmates. Ilse decides to put an end to this mixup and since the dull captain of the plane, Richard, makes no move to confront his co-pilot about his unstable private life, the smart stewardess appeals to the rest of the crew to help her teach Horst a few lessons in love.

1780: When farmer Schmitzdorff in Wust, Brandenburg, is denied permission to marry his stepdaughter Sophie, he goes to Potsdam to obtain permission from the king himself. Because when he believes he is in the right, the proud man stubbornly insists on his opinion. But his stubbornness gets the better of him when he meets the dashing Wordelmann, Frederick II's personal grenadier, in an inn on the way. The latter sees the farmer as a welcome distraction from his otherwise dreary everyday life. Wordelmann tricks Schmitzdorff at his expense and pretends to be allowed to perform the wedding because of his military affiliation. And so the grenadier ends up organizing a wedding that isn't a wedding and takes the dastardly prank to the extreme until everyone involved has lost their laughter.

Robert and Michael meet on their return from captivity. They discover that they are both married to the same woman: After Robert was pronounced dead, Michael married Anna. The decision about the future is left to chance.

A young couple from the present day is transported by magic to a distant fairy-tale world. There they encounter clever objects such as the table that sets itself, the flying carpet, and the invisibility cloak. All of these objects can be used for useful purposes. However, since they can also be used to play pranks and cause a lot of mischief, Vera and Peter and their allies are urged to be brave and cautious...

Gunnar, a bigmouth, hitchhikes from Berlin to Rostock with his brother's duffel bag. Right at the start of his trip, he meets well-mannered Teresa, with whom he continues the journey in an old motorcycle. On the adventurous tour that follows, which is fraught with many obstacles, they meet a wide variety of people. For example, a pastor on his way to visit a dying man, an actor whose car breaks down or the shady Mercedes-Hurtig.

Children's book illustrator Müller-Olbernhau has a secure livelihood in East Berlin. He and his wife Brigitte, who is very impressed by the "western glamor", are visited by Uncle Rüdiger Lorenz from the Rhine. Under their influence, he moves to West Germany, also annoyed by the publishing house and because, according to his wife, he lacks "pizzazz". There he was asked to illustrate comics with violent and cruel depictions for a Frankfurt publisher. He witnesses arguments between three other graphic artists and the publishing house manager. When he asks one of them, Hertwig, who is no longer "playing along", what he is doing now, he is told that he is going to a "real children's book publisher" in East Berlin. Brigitte is astonished: "Isn't that where we just came from?" As she looks at Leo in surprise, he writes on her forehead in lipstick: "That's it."

The impoverished and homeless orphan girl Anna Barbara sets out in search of the mysterious golden thaler. The rag collector Hans Geiz offers her the promise of it if she toils in his underground kingdom for three years.

At the beginning of the 50s, two extremely disparate men meet in a private sanatorium for consumptives: an officer in the People's Police, Josef Heiliger; and a young Protestant curate, Hubertus Koschenz. On account of their consumption, they have to share a room. Initially, this is the only thing they have in common. The film explores Hubertus's struggle with his sexuality within the context of both the church and the socialist state.

After participating in more than 100,000 euthanasia crimes during the Nazi era, the former SS psychiatrist and physician Dr. Werner Heyde leads an unmolested life in West Germany after the war under a false name ("Fritz Sawade"). With the help of confidants, he manages to get a job as a medical expert. His true identity remains in the dark for many years. His wife has him declared dead and draws the pension of a psychology professor's widow. After remaining unidentified for ten years, Dr. Heyde is unmasked and arrested one day and found dead in his cell shortly before the start of the trial. The film plot is based on the authentic case of Dr. Werner Heyde.

The Oppen family has lived in Berlin, Griesener Straße, for generations. The first names of the family members are also repeated, so the grandson Jan has the same first name as his grandfather. The Oppens' husbands have maintained a tradition up to now: they were or are all carpenters. But the latter does not yet fall on fertile ground with 16-year-old Jan, whose passion is the moped, his "machine". Of course, he is a newcomer among the motorcycle fans around the black Jonny, but he loves to be in their company to experience adventures, and of course he wants to be able to "keep up" with them. Jan has already developed a strategy for how he can do this.

Kai, a young boy, living in 1923 Berlin tries to convince an American businessman that he can market his chewing gum better than anyone else in town.

Ten-year-old Lutz Paschke, son of detective captain Paschke, is an enthusiastic but often overzealous detective. He roams his town with his basset hound Pinkus and thinks he can spot crimes in mostly harmless incidents. Every now and then, his father is called by him to a supposed crime, so Lutz thinks he has seen a murder, which turns out to be a clumsy attempt to kill a carp. Father Paschke is annoyed, especially as Lutz's actions repeatedly put him in embarrassing situations. So when Lutz receives an anonymous letter with cut-out letters announcing a crime at the old mill on Friday evening, he doesn't tell his father.

A fisherman once caught a talking golden fish. He gave him his freedom and was allowed to make a wish in return. He asked for a boat, but this was not enough for his wife, who demanded a house. Driven by his wife's greed, the fisherman demanded more and more until he had lost all the wealth he had gained.

One morning, a tailor was sitting at the window sewing. A shopkeeper came by and loudly offered plum jam for sale. The little tailor spent his last penny to treat himself. But the sweet smell of plum jam attracted a lot of flies, and when the tailor struck, seven fell by the wayside. This deed seemed so remarkable to the little tailor that he made himself a belt on which it was written that he had killed seven in one go.

One year has passed since Max and Wanda got their divorce. Max has come to the realization that he wants his ex-wife back - no matter what the cost! So he concocts a sneaky plan: he asks Wanda to hide him from the police, who are apparently looking for him. At first, Wanda rejects all his attempts to restart their relationship. But she is soon unable to resist Max's convincing promises and even throws her lover out of the house. But then she discovers Max's lie.

Helmut Kamp, the construction brigade leader, a man no longer young, life immediately confronted several difficult and woeful problems. The birth of a son, the tragic death of his wife, the relationship of his daughter Ingrid with Dr. Beißert coincided with the need to move to an uninhabited area where a nuclear power plant will be built. Kamp, Ingrid and the members of the friendly brigade decide to act as the duty and the feeling of partnership prompts them, and gradually they all become participants in the new construction...

In 1930s Berlin, a woman’s life unravels as her unemployed husband succumbs to Nazi propaganda and joins the Storm Troopers, while her brother's anti-Nazi stance leads to his death, prompting her to confront her beliefs and make a risky choice.

Pauline Oswald is 50 years old and has three daughters with her husband Robert. Now, after almost 30 years of marriage, they are about to divorce. This marks the start of a completely new life for Pauline. Until now, she has only worked as a mother and housewife, while her husband Robert, an academic, brought home the salary. Pauline later meets the cheerful and resolute Wally, who works as a brigade leader in a large laundry. A friendship develops between the two women, and Wally helps Pauline to continue on her path to a self-determined life.

The film tells the well-known fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, in which the little girl Little Red Riding Hood is led astray by the wolf, devoured along with her grandmother and saved by the huntsman.
