Podil is a historic district of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. It was first mentioned in chronicles in 945. It has experienced and witnessed many things. And it has not survived many things. I have always been amazed by the number of freely written drawings and words on the walls, fences, and bus stops in this neighborhood. I have never seen so many of them anywhere else. So one day, they found their way onto my editing table to tell their story...

Since childhood, Yevhen has shown a peculiar fascination with cemeteries; today he is the author of more than a hundred monuments. In his community, he plays an important social role by drawing attention to memory and reconciliation, creating memorials for those who found their final rest in a small town in western Ukraine. Throughout the film, we observe this eccentric man with his homespun philosophy and sense of humor, who manages to combine cosmopolitanism and asceticism with an active, provocative presence in the everyday life of his community.

Using dystopian storytelling, the project deals with the common close connection between technology and humans. In the form of a video installation with multiple series, the subjects are built on the idea of bodyless life and its different combinations. How will beings of such a distinct future life form look together, what questions or problems can emerge in their connections? The overplayed stories about these future beings are necessary for searching for maybe the most unexpected, but difficult questions in the context of the conjunction of people and artificial intelligence.

Impressions from the suburban area in Zaporizhzhia: arterial roads, residential silos, factory ruins, industrial wastelands. For someone ugly suburban architecture, for the director a meditative space. A sensitive look through a kaleidoscope that reveals yearnings and dreams in seemingly dreary grey. A very personal dialogue with inconspicuous beauty, transience and permanent change.

A dynamic documentary film on up-and-coming bands in the east of the Ukraine: they play an aggressive form of rock and punk, prefer not to think of the war and find themselves in a constant state of rebellion against the establishment. There was once an agglomeration that went by the name of Svetlograd, itself the result of a merger of the three cities Lysychansk, Rubizhne und Severnodonetsk. The locals used to make a living thanks to the chemical plant, which was virtually a monopoly employer in the region. Subsequently however the plant was closed and the locals made redundant. Nevertheless they refused to give up, and proceded to craft imaginative artworks from cardboard, metal and other materials left behind by the factory, soon transforming the city into a new Ukrainian centre for modern art. That it could have turned out this way is illustrated by this pseudo-documentary, in which interviews with fictitious locals, videos and archive images of the factory create a pretence of authenticity.

The film focuses on the emotionality of social media and its role in the militarization of Ukrainian society. The ability of social media to capture emotions and retranslate them, turn emotional contagion into a closed collective practice, and the community — into a single organism capable of achieving real change. This form of collectivity, which develops on the basis of digital interaction, can have very different consequences. Where exactly is the line between solidarity and radicalization? How can empathy turn into hatred?

Is the choice of symbols for the state of Ukraine accidental? How far back in history do their origins lie? The blue and yellow colors of the flag and the trident on the coat of arms have been known since the time of the Grand Dukes of Kyiv. The film takes us even further back, 7,000 years ago, to say with certainty that the symbols of Ukraine were passed down to descendants from their ancestors.
