Shows song, music and dance from Dancehall National, commonly known as Nalen in Stockholm. The film is a pure music and dance film and shows no less than three stellar ensembles in full action - Het Miller's hot quintet from Holland, Seymour Österwall's Swedish elite orchestra and Jimmy Woode's all-black bass are responsible for the music. Black singer Kosto Kilroy and Javanese swing singer Sanny Day are seen and heard as soloists. Furthermore, Nalen's jitterbug stars and adjutant Engvall with his 100 singers and musicians from the Salvation Army participate. A beauty pageant and a carnival also feature prominently in the film. Among the melodies is the popular samba Manana.

The turn of a year in a snowy village in Sweden documents the need for change and continuance. A collective film about rites and times. Dala-Floda, Sweden, has 680 inhabitants. In the depths of the blue light of winter, six filmmakers ask themselves what it means to start a new year. Emerging locals formulate their views on time and our need for rituals and reoccurring events. Their answers parade poetically through the snowy and cold village landscape. A sort of time travel takes place and recalls ordinary as well as extraordinary memories and identities. The commonplace is our need for measuring time, our need for a beginning and an end. A ninety-year-old woman shows a way out of the never-ending dream phase of the evoked Phantom Carriage (Selma Lagerlöf) and exclaims: "Really, you ought to reset yourself. You have to feel completely at zero again".

The second part of the video series Man with balls on hands and feet, also including Man on air (2001) and Man on ice (1998). Man with balls on hands and feet is the name of the video series containing three films. The two first, Man on ice (1998) and Man on water (1999) shows a man venturing on the physical contradictory; to stand straight up on an ice or a water surface, with balls attached to hands and feet. In the third, Man on air (2001), the support obtained by friction is altered with a heavy stream of air. Through this very simple and obviously impossible combination of hard, spherical forms contradicting the ice, the water and the air stream, an excruciating yet human situation is stressed.
