Occupied Territories is the story of a plunder told by the people of the mountains of Caramulo. People speak of their life after the violent occupation and forestation of their community lands by the State in 1941. The absence of a decent housing policy, in response to the needs of the lower-income population, resulted in unofficial housing. Residents are unemployed or have extremely precarious working conditions. What they earn is not enough to rent a house and cover basic expenses such as food, water, electricity, gas and transportation. In this context of social injustice that also turns into spatial injustice, we currently have around 42 families, a few hundred people, women, children, men, elderly people, people with disabilities and some with serious health problems. They live in a neighborhood without minimum hygiene conditions, with precarious housing, without sewage,

João Ricardo de Barros Oliveira defines himself as a musician-sound-sculptor and lives surrounded by materials, which he criteriously gathers from dumps and trash containers. He makes vulgar trash the basis for his art, out of objects considered useless he builds sound sculptures with which he performs on stage, in concerts and in workships. Born in Viana do Castelo, he left early to discover other universes, but it was in Berlin that he settled and built his sound workshop. Without an instruction manual he slides some sounds over others and travels and it's a very peaceful journey.

The Manoki people live in northwestern Mato Grosso, Brazil, and one of their main economic activities is selling pequi, a local fruit, on the highways that cross their land. During a video workshop, the youngsters decided to present aspects of their villages and the process of gathering and selling the pequi fruit to the outside world. Incited by the possibility of filming and starring in their own film, they looked for the elders in the villages in attempt to find myths about the pequi. The making of this film was a process between indigenous and non-indigenous videomakers: from the main concept and filming to the editing and post-production. All images were recorded by the Manoki videomakers.
