Through the recovery and re-montage of various film fragments and the commentary of three filmmakers - Carlos Álvarez, Marta Rodríguez, and Carlos Sánchez - a historical and aesthetic journey is proposed through a foundational moment for filmmaking in Colombia (1965-1975), whose images constitute a revolution on the screen. This documentary journey tells how, at a time when the film industry was just being consolidated, a generation of young filmmakers brought about a moment of rupture, subverting official cinema by taking the media to experiment, denounce and narrate other realities in Colombia at the end of the 1960s.

This film, made as a "twin" of A ilha dos amores, was planned as a poetic documentary on the enigmatic life of Wenceslau de Moraes (1855-1929), the great Portuguese writer who lived in the Far East. Verbal testimony, photographs, manuscripts, images of Lisbon, Macao, Kobe and Tokushima in Moraes' time are set side by side with A ilha dos amores and with de Moraes' writings. The director, Paulo Rocha, visited places where Moraes was still remembered, interviewed the writers descendants, consulted archives, rummaged through memories, appointment books, postcards, diaries and calendars from the private life of the 19th century. And above all he set out on a new journey, from Lisbon to Macao to Kobe until he reached Tokushima, where Moraes lived through the final ruin of his life and where Rocha tracks down, between the city and the cemetery, the living presence of places and the memories of individuals.

This documentary short film, inspired by the musical work of the singer Gil do Carmo, called "The Whole World", aims to portray the life of Arroios, the most multicultural parish in Lisbon, which, over two square kms of total area, welcomes around 40 thousand people of 92 different nationalities. Gil do Carmo's voice and steps lead us through the bustling streets of this neighbourhood and reveal some of its gems: the Intendente street market, the Arab restaurant, traditional Japanese dance classes, the Indian barber shop or the Hindu temple. This film portrays the pulse of miscegenation lived in the city of Lisbon. We want to believe that from one neighbourhood (Arroios) all of Lisbon is inclusively not a “Strange way of life”, but a reality in Lisbon, as in "Whole World".

In Stanislaw Lem's book of the same title, a paper-destroying blight obliterated much of Earth's written history—except for what's in the book. In this film, we look at a similar but unmarked future, perhaps one less distant than Lem's 3140s. Amid the rubble of an uncertain setting, the narrated soundtrack reads from the last surviving parts of some bound pages, perhaps a reporter's notebook, a dream diary, or a book manuscript.

A heartbreaking portrait of 16-year-old Ukrainian refugees Andrey and Alisa, who help out at a school for refugee children in Budapest. Andrey asks the children to draw pictures of something from back home in Ukraine. What beautiful things can they recall? He offers the example of his own grandfather’s cherry orchard. The children use confrontational, adult vocabulary to describe their experiences of war. A young boy earnestly goes through a number of battle strategies, and a girl provides a vivid account of a rocket attack.

Three Portuguese queer short films brought together in a program that charts an alternative path through converging universes, forming a new constellation of desires, fears, and struggles. Entre a Luz e o Nada by Joana de Sousa, Sob Influência by Ricardo Branco, and Uma Rapariga Imaterial by André Godinho are three cinematic gestures that explore techniques and narratives from science fiction to horror, seeking new ways to view and imagine other possibilities. After traveling through various festivals, these films can now be experienced together, in a mutual exploration of mysterious worlds, unsettling dreams, and singular visions.
