Protests in Lima against the government in 2019 sparked the fire of a historic building in Plaza San Martín. Joaquin Goldstein, an artist who lived there for several years, returns to Peru in search of his works stored on the roof of the building that was left in rubble and ashes.

Casire is a peasant community on the slopes of the Sara Sara Volcano in the south of Peru. Two hundred people still live in the community. The film narrates the story of the Volcano´s spell on the community, when she discovered that incestous relationships were practised there. She erupted, leaving the village in ruins, but being a female herself considered the men guilty and allowed only the women to remain in the village. The film tells what happens after the Spanish conquest when the Christian decided to put an end to the Volcano’s power to cast spells, and the state of the village nowadays.

Jacinta, an Andean indigenous woman, returns to Chongomarca with the mission of finding her husband, Wasaberto. Upon her return, she stumbles upon a multinational construction company that will build a hotel in her modest home.

“The Color of the Sky” is a testimony from those who, from their position as left-wing militants, full of dedication and faith, struggled to change Peruvian society, to conquer its sky. Set during the political events of the late 1970s and early 1980s, Unity, Political Violence, and Democracy are the main themes addressed by our protagonists.

A theatrical work that talks about the disappeared in the years of political violence in Peru, is taken to present Andean communities. In each place of presentation, the fiction will be confronted with reality.

A very poor married couple survives as best they can by working hard. Their son is mistrustful because he is laughed at at school. He grows resentful and develops a great hatred for his mother.

A couple of theater students fall in love; a woman suffers a sudden illness; a watchman (guachimán) lives his loneliness; and an old amateur actor realizes his dream of performing in public. Each story follows its own path, but some of them converge in unexpected ways

Mary returns to Perú and her family with her previous film as a gift to her father, Lucho Jimenez, an eighty year old man with a lot of vitality. She proposes a caravan trip into his past, taking him to places where they spent their lives together, asking questions he never asked about his history, his family's history and his mother's death. During the filming of the movie, Mary learns that her father has a new engagement to a woman much younger than him and that he is about to adopt his new wife's child who was given to another family.

Number 7 is home to Janet, a pregnant prostitute. She lives with Leslie, her junkie colleague. They know they have no future. But they have a plan. They need to go to Miami. The father of Janet's unborn child has the money they need. And they have decided to take the respect they are owed. Above the girls lives Fredy. He is in love with Álvaro, who has AIDS. Together they have established a shelter where people infected with HIV can find company. But Álvaro is dimming. Fredy won't accept it, but Alvaro has little time left. Three stories to continue sharing the same Condominium. ¿Where do YOU live?

Lopez, is an explorer who finds gold in the jungle. Before returning to the city, he is bitten by a poisonous snake. In the midst of his despair, he finds a sage who has the cure for his problem. However, he must pass all the tests that he puts to him.

Eight journalists and their guide have been murdered by Uchuraccay. A Spanish reporter and his guide will travel to the place to find out what happened. This is the recreation of a story that could never be completely clear.

It is a documentary that shows the work of film workers in the different areas of distribution and exhibition that allow films to reach viewers. In addition, it testifies to the preferences of the cinematographic public in the years of 1983.

Santiago de Lucanamarca, a remote farming community in the Peruvian Andes, is shaken by the presence of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. They have come to open the tombs of the 69 people who died in the massacre of April 3, 1983. Twenty years later there is a chance to close old wounds, but distrust can also be felt in the streets of the town. Aren't we all Peruvians? asks one of the people affected. The history of Lucanamarca shows us how elusive justice can be.

The life and times of Peruvian poet Javier Heraud in the 1950s and 1960s, including his university years and his involvement with Latin American guerrilla movements.

It tells the story of a young married couple who travel to a resort to finalize the purchase of a beach house. Due to various unforeseen circumstances, they have to stay overnight at a nearby hotel. This free afternoon is initially seen as an invitation to boredom. After a brief excursion to the pier, it's the beginning of a game, a relaxation, a night of openness and inebriation. Back at the hotel, this relaxed atmosphere gives way to a frustrated eroticism, but then, while he bathes, she succumbs to a suddenly serene atmosphere. This is a moment of recognition and solitary courage for her: the acceptance that their relationship isn't built on anything certain.

Aurelio and Isabel, an elderly couple living in an old house, have only each other. Upon hearing of Aurelio's impending death, Isabel tries to please him, and he, moved by an old bolero, proposes fulfilling one last wish: to make love again.

They navigate through the South American cordillera, bonding over their shared love for Pirata while learning the importance of tolerance, patience, and coexistence along the way.

Denisse, a young trans woman, witnesses the murder of a sex worker while finishing a dance rehearsal. The killer, realizing that Denisse has witnessed this, begins to chase her through the streets of Lima to try to kill her as well. Denisse enacts her chase and death through a voguing choreography.

History of the founding of the Red Cross in Peru.

In early 2020, MUTA - International Festival of Audiovisual Appropriation and Cine Íntimo rescued and digitised a Peruvian archive of orphaned 8mm and Super 8 home movies. With the aim of restoring these lost memories, we sent the images around the world. This omnibus film is the result of the intervention of this material, by 14 experimental filmmakers.
