RED were the supporters of the football club Anyang LG Cheetahs. The Cheetahs topped the K-league in 2000 but suddenly relocated to Seoul in 2003. Having no team to support, RED had no reason to continue its existence. But rather than accepting defeat, the die-hard members of RED began a fierce, nine-year struggle that finally led to the birth of Anyang’s own football club once again. FC Sukhavati is the story of these football otakus and their home city, of their growth, solidarity and victory.

This program features three digital short films by Asian filmmakers. Darezhan Omirbayev's ABOUT LOVE (38 min) is a bitter love story based on Anton Chekhov's novel, in which a lonely math teacher falls in love with her married university classmate. Pen-ek Ratanaruang's TWELVE TWENTY (30 min) depicts the encounters of a man and a woman on a long haul flight, where they spend the next twelve hours and twenty minutes reading, drinking, eating and watching movies and sleeping by each other's side, as if they are a married couple.

Since 2 years ago, Haneul has been teased by Chiwoo who is a delinquent in his school. Chiwoo prepares revenge on Myeongho and Haneul’s other friend Minsik who falls in love with Myeongho’s girlfriend. They provoke Hanuel into a fight because he is an easy mark.

By chance, two men open their hearts to cats on the street. One man is a poet and traveler, the other man is a CF director. The poet takes pictures of cats on the streets every day. The CF director follows the cats with his video camera and meets people who feed the cats on the street. These two men begin to feed and name the cats they see often. The men get closer to the cats, while they observe, that often, the passersby look at the cats with unfavorable gazes. On a whim, the men decide to make a movie on these street cats.

From the music of South Korean composer Jung Jae-il, Guatemalan filmmaker Jayro Bustamante crafts a story of a native woman invoking the spirits of fertility in a Guatemalan forest with ritual fire. This short film is part of the 2x25 Project of Film Fest Gent and the World Soundtrack Awards. The project commissioned 25 composers to compose a short piece of music, after which 25 filmmakers made short films that are the ultimate symbioses of music and cinematography, fitting completely within the DNA of the festival. The result: 25 exceptional films where the music inspired the form, narrative and texture.

A railroad worker (Won Poong Yeon, Seven Days) wearily sets out for his last day of work, carrying his usual bread and milk. When he approaches a hill, he decides to commit suicide and lies down on the rails. As the train approaches him, suddenly, a big jagged rock falls on the rail, leaving him stuck in the gap between the train wheels and the rock.

Do-han makes money ripping off Chinese tourists visiting Dongdaemun night market. One evening, a Korean-Chinese man, Gwang-ho, asks the wandering Do-han about where he might take a woman. Hand-held camera work, close-ups and rhythmical editing enhance the dramatic tension and reveals what lays the shadowy corners of the exciting city nightscape.

After a bombing at the school, the father of terrorist Jung Hae-sung sues teacher. The teacher goes around to get a petition with a lawyer and meets the people around Hae-sung. Through them, the teacher hears a story about Hae-sung that he did not know.

A love story of four seasons. “Spring, the first time they met”; The moment Dongjun saw Hyeji, flowers bloomed like it was springtime. He seized the moment and confessed his feelings for her. But Hyeji turns him down, saying they'll meet again if they are meant to be. And just like a miracle, Dongjun runs into Hyeji again. Dongjun’s heart starts beating, and their love blossoms. One day, an unknown existence appears and announces that everyone will die. To survive judgment day, those who have witnessed the death of their immediate family members must share their lives with those around them.

A man named Jin-gu, fleeing Seoul after accidentally committing murder while defending himself, is torn between escaping with his lover, Jeong-ae, and his growing entanglement in a criminal conspiracy. After a series of dangerous encounters and close calls with the police, Jin-gu desperately seeks Jeong-ae, only to find her being tailed by detectives. As their attempts to reunite are continuously thwarted, Jin-gu's journey reflects not only his personal guilt but also the tragic fate of those, like Jeong-ae, caught in circumstances beyond their control. In the end, Jin-gu faces the consequences of his actions, while Jeong-ae silently endures the weight of their doomed love.

Hand is the second and last film produced by Cinepoem in 1966. Cinepoem is a film group founded by Yu Hyun-mok with the aim of producing avant-garde short films. Hand was directed by Yu, written by Choi Il-soo, shot by Kim Gi-Guk, and recorded by Park Ik-sun. It’s format is 35mm and B&W with a length of 50 seconds. The exceptionally short length of the film was set for submitting to the International and Universal Exposition in Montreal under the theme “Man and His World (Concours terre de hommes).” It organized a competition program for 50 seconds long films and called for works from all over the world. Winning works were supposed to screen in theaters as well on television. In the competition, 870 works from 37 countries were presented and 94 films were selected including Hand for screening at the opening of the Montreal International Film Festival.

In 1940, Lang Lang, the only daughter of the dojo of the Cheongsim Hall in Manchuria, which was infested with corrupt martial artists, is a tomboy in the world. Lang Lang's father invites a martial arts master to entrust his daughter to her in order to correct her daughter's behavior and rebuild the forest.

When hit KBS drama I'm Sorry, I Love You aired in 2004, it recorded high TV ratings, won the acclaim of critics, and quickly became one of the flagbearers of the Korean Wave. The tragic love story of Mu Hyeok (So Ji Sub of What Happened in Bali) and Eun Chae (Yim Soo Jung of Lump Sugar and I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK) made stars out of its leads and attracted an enormous fanbase throughout Asia. Two years later, G&G Entertainment released a 35-minute animated version of the drama, Between of One Year, consisting of highlights from the drama and new scenes dealing with the final moments of Eun Chae and Mu Hyeok's relationship. The script was supervised by the writer of the original live-action drama, Lee Kyung Hee.

A sequel to "Porosity Valley, Portable Holes" (2017), this piece expands upon the previous work through a fictionalized depiction of the migration of the migrant/mineral/data cluster known as Petra Genetrix. Juxtaposing refugee migration with digital migration, both of which characterize migration in the 21st century, the work creates a speculative space-time by interrogating the “ways of existence” and the “ways of representation” of the Yemeni refugees who recently arrived in South Korea. Reflected here is the state of affairs in which refugees are treated as a kind of malware or virus that threaten the immune system of the nation state.

When Seo Young-ju finished her busy life with a performance as an actress and an assistant director after shooting a film, Seo leaves on a trip overseas to hibernate. She is thinking what she as an actress should do for the health of the earth. But her loneliness cannot be solved. Yang Eun-yong loves someone, but cannot contact with him. She drinks because of her agony, but cannot resolve her loneliness and thirst easily. However, there is the film in the center of them. Though it is tough, they reveal and discover their new faces through their films, the source of their energy. There is something in the actresses in the shaking cameras; that is what they are looking for.
