In January 2007, I was stopped on the streets of Tehran by members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, who claimed I had been filming them with my Mini DV video camera. They detained me momentarily and erased 27 seconds of my footage by recording over it—pointing the lens at the white interior wall of their headquarters.
