In February 2019, the Hong Kong government proposed a bill that would have allowed the extradition of criminal suspects from Hong Kong to face trial in mainland China. The controversial bill sparked immediate outrage over widespread fear of arbitrary detention and politically motivated trials that would decimate Hong Kong’s autonomy under ‘one country, two systems.’ Protests escalated into epic pro-democracy demonstrations, in part led by young people connected via social media. Poet and author Xi Xi is one of Hong Kong's most treasured writers. Leave it to Fruit Chan, another staunchly grassroots auteur, to make a documentary on Xi Xi's career. Chan sought out renowned critics and writers to discuss Xi Xi's works, starting with 1979's My City. He also juxtaposes photos of a changing Hong Kong with readings of her writings, and even playfully inserts characters from her stories into the film.

In 2000, cases of charcoal-burning suicide were increasing on the island Cheung Chau. The islanders' livelihood was affected so they formed the life-saving squad. The guesthouse owner set up “ The Three No's Rental Rules”. The part-time girl at the supermarket observed customers who might buy charcoal for suicide. Some islanders were on the lookout for distressed visitors. Occasionally, they succeeded in stopping the tragedy. Some survivors even joined the squad. At times, they made funny mistakes and met with hiccups in the life-saving endeavors. With trial and error, they explored the essential needs in people's hearts.

Due to the poverty in his hometown, a country boy left his hometown to join his relatives in a faraway place, leaving his wife at home. During that time, a bully coveted the beauty of the country boy's wife and tried to sexually assault her. The wife hangs herself from a beam to protect her chastity. When the country bumpkin returns home to look for his wife, the bullies beat the country bumpkin to death in order to eliminate the root of the problem. The two of them are so desperate for revenge that they return from the dead to take revenge on the bully. In the end, they lead the police to arrest the bully and bring him to justice.

In June 2018, Hong Kong singer-songwriter Gin Lee held her solo concert First Of All at the Hong Kong Coliseum for the first time. She kicked off the concert with Guang Huan and Sui Feng Er Lai, Sui Feng Er Qu. Gin performed all her hit numbers, spanning from her debut track "Dive" to the recent hit "Faith." She also reinterpreted ‎Shirley Yamaguchi's Qiu Yi Nong, which she sang on The Voice of China three years ago. Justin Lo appeared as the guest singer and the two sang Kong and Jacky Cheung's classic "Love is Eternal" together. Gin's friend AGA also made a guest appearance to sing their famous duet Yi Jia Yi.

A mix of supernatural tone, comedic banter and nudity with musical numbers, it takes a while before this story of two scholars being courted and haunted by both, fox spirits and malicious ghosts, gets started. Do the scholars side with the fox spirits, trying to achieve immortality or are they being bewitched by it? It leads to a wild ending with a battle between humans, fox spirits and ghosts that seems more like a Halloween costume showcase than anything else.
