On 4 September Frederick Albert Cook (1865-1940) arrived in Copenhagen on the ship 'Hans Egede'. He received a hero's welcome as the first man to set foot on the North Pole. He was greeted by the king, and given an honorary doctorate at the University of Copenhagen. Only a few days later, however, his endeavour was questioned, and in December the University rejected Cook's documentation. Carl Th. Dreyer is seen as one of the journalists taking notes. (DFI)

A Year of Hope is about life on the streets of Manila. You will hear the horrible stories of Pablo, Justin, and some of the other boys. Thankfully their lives change during their year in Stairway Foundation. It's an NGO located on an island in the Philippines far away from Manila. They're there to get a proper education, eat nutritious food, have fun, and be introduced to new things. But sadly even in a place like Stairway, the gruesome streets of Manila are still lurking in the backs of the children's minds.

They both have jobs, Sophia is an actress and Freddie a balloon-flier, which makes it tough to be home with the baby and such. They also have to deal with Sophia´s family, which includes a depressed dad, a close to senile mother, and two eccentric sisters. The family life is nothing what Sophia and Freddie expected.

The film follows Danish politician Silas Mudoh as he fights corruption from Mette Mor in Danish society.

The show is about finding yourself by looking inside yourself. More specifically, it is about recognizing that you are a bad feminist and finding peace with that. About not letting your opinions be dictated by others and about how some people cannot claim ownership of a word or a definition. It is about there being room to be bad at something and that it is perfectly okay. The action takes place in a theater, where actor and theater director Poul Bech is shot by his co-star Eva Berthelsen in the middle of a premiere. The script says he should be shot, but not with real bullets! Everyone at the theater seems to have a reason to want him dead. "Stig Møller - a genuine flower child" - a Danish musician and singer/songwriter who has been active in the alternative music movement since the early 1960's. He started out with bands like The Rivals and Blackbeat, became a folksinger with a solo career, met with poet Eik Skaløe and found the cult acid/folk/rock group Steppeulvene and much more.

A sort of forerunner to Hollywood's Boogie Nights (1997), this Danish melodrama is set in the world of strip clubs. A medical student (Frits Helmuth) earns money for tuition working in a burlesque joint. He falls for one of the girls (Malene Schwarz), but she is also involved with a movie director (John Price). The director and Helmuth get into a philosophical debate about love and Darwinism, and the film ends with a duel (the film's title). Duellen was met with mostly incomprehension when it premiered and is no more lucid when viewed today. The striptease scene featuring full-frontal nudity is tame by modern standards.

The Pallesen Pilmark Show was a Danish musical comedy show featuring Per Pallesen and Søren Pilmark. The style was wordless deadpan with a series of physical gags centered around two grand pianos with the two comedians dressed in tuxedos. Victor Borge may have been the inspiration. The show toured the Middle East and the US.
