Galina offers herself as a whistleblower to Germany after hackers specifically attacked the computer systems of the Berlin Central Hospital. She has the code that can thwart further attacks, but in return she demands money, asylum and inclusion in a witness protection program for herself and her young daughter.

Christopher Columbus's crazy idea of traveling to India can only be realized because the Spanish treasury is empty and Queen Isabella, who rules the country, is charmed by the charming, profit-seeking son of a poor weaver. The film begins with the First World War and ends in 1945. Without exception, recordings from this period were used, which came from weekly news reports from different countries. " The film premiered in Cologne on November 20, 1953, but was immediately banned by Federal Interior Minister Gerhard Schröder in agreement with the interior ministers of the federal states of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Egomania is a visually stunning end-of-the-world melodrama about lust, jealousy and murder set amidst solar eclipses, orchestral chants and the distant thunder of the boiling sea. The film’s characters – riddled with unconscious desires – find themselves imprisoned on an island. Drawing parallels to the work of British filmmaker Derek Jarman and staring Jarman’s actress-muse Tilda Swinton, Schlingensief’s raw and almost mythological film stands in contrast to his more offensive efforts.
