This film shows events in the biennial Festival of Arts and the annual Flower Day of 1968. Adelaide celebrated Flower Day annually from 1938 to 1975 and it made a return in 2021. The footage includes a ‘welcome said with flowers’ to performers Marlene Dietrich, Marcella Reale, Morag Beaton, Lucero Tena, and the Elizabethan Theatre Trust Orchestra. There is also a look inside the Art Gallery’s display for the 5th Adelaide Festival of Arts. This is quite possibly the moment the phrase “Mad March” was coined!

Every LGBT milestone happened on Australian TV in the 1970s, years before the rest of the world. And nobody ever saw it, because the nudity, adult stories and queer themes from these TV series could never have been tolerated on commercial TV anywhere outside of Australia. This documentary event, which includes a specially edited episode of Number 96 to highlight several queer stories, finally sets the record straight

A staccato study of street level action and inter-action. People and vehicles on everyday journeys are atomised into coursing fragments of light, shadow, angle and inertia, reiterating and disassembling the creation of motion out of still frames at the heart of cinema. Filmed in ten cities on four continents.

Dykes on Bikes Sydney is Australia’s longest-running female-identified motorcycle club, and one of the country’s oldest LGBTQIA+ community groups. With chapters all over the world, these days, the club is about having a good time with friends and giving back to the community. But things weren't always so recreational. Dykes on Bikes® Sydney emerged in response to gay hate crimes in the 1980s. The group met on weekend evenings to patrol the streets of Sydney and break up the attacks that were happening. From protectors of the streets to Sydney Mardi Gras icons, this project dives into present-day member accounts of their history, why they continue to ride today and continuing their legacy for future generations. A hybrid of a documentary and visual poem, this is a love letter to the Dykes on Bikes® Sydney.

In this pilot which was never aired on Australian television, John Safran demonstrates the innovative talent he is capable of. The program is essentially a magazine-style presentation of social rebellion and challenge to Australian institutions. In what has become the most famous (and litigious) incident, Safran and A Current Affair 'victim' Shane Paxton rummage through Ray Martin's garbage, and are soon approached by an angry Martin and his wife. Classic television in a similar vain to the work of American Michael Moore, which was deemed too controversial by the ABC to screen and was also beyond the pail for the commercial networks

The Projectionist is an aural and visual narrative. Inspired by Rachmaninov's composition 'The Isle of the Dead' it threads together a story about an old cinema projectionist and an elaborate series of huge projected images which represent his memories. He is a 21st century Everyman, whose complex mind is burdened with too many overlapping memories. His individual suffering resonates, ironically because it is invisible to everyone but himself. The ghostly visions which appear in The Projectionist reflect his personal history and private pain.

Soanin Kilangit is determined to unite the people and attract international tourism through the revival of culture on Baluan Island in the South Pacific. He organizes the largest cultural festival ever held on the island, but some traditional leaders argue that Baluan never had culture and that culture comes from the white man and is now destroying their old tradition. Others, however, take the festival as a welcome opportunity to revolt against '70 years of cultural oppression' by Christianity. A struggle to define the past, present and future of Baluan culture erupts to the sound of thundering log drum rhythms.

Healing in Timor-Leste is rarely straightforward. Timorese people acknowledge and embrace multiple pathways to healing in a complex interplay between spiritual care, comfort and personal connection. Through lifelong observation and learning, they trial a variety of practices and pass down their knowledge to the next generation. Holding Tightly observes seven approaches to healing in remote, rural and urban parts of the Baucau municipality in the country’s east, spanning contexts and experiences from the armed resistance era to the independence period.
