Experimental short film

The film shows a woman swimming from an unusual perspective—underwater. The images are created not in one place, but from constant movement. Movements that immediately convey a sensual, physical sensation. The camera captures the swimmer's movements.

In March 1981, following a demonstration by supporters of the squatter movement, 141 predominantly young people were arrested at the KOMM youth center in Nuremberg on suspicion of breach of the peace.

If the hands had eyes during the act of love, if the whole body could see. This is what the video simulates. It was filmed with an endoscope, the optical system with which you can go directly on and into the body. Due to technical conditions (light intensity, etc.), it was shot on 16mm film. The trick editing was done on high-tape with a special effects generator. The story is told by a sailor whose sea wife always wants to hear the story again, when she is in his arms.

Untracked, even confused, but not unfunny, this attempt by two old people to escape. It has become too cramped in the Berlin apartment shared by three generations of a Chilean immigrant family when the paralyzed grandfather decides to return to his Chilean homeland. Under the suspicious gaze and accompanied by impotent attempts at action by the other family members, he sets off with his wife and an uncle. Their odyssey through Berlin lasts exactly one day.

Walzer is an excerpt taken from a work by the same name. Pina Bausch premiered it in the summer of 1982 at the Carré Theatre in Amsterdam and filmed it in the autumn of the same year in the theatre of Wuppertal. When in 1986 the German radio station Norddeutscher Rundfunk in Hamburg asked for a recording, Pina Bausch selected and edited the material into the film Walzer.

The queen of the black market is my grandmother, as I imagined her in the post-war period, but also her favorite coffee pot, which escaped from my grandmother and mysteriously survived violent attacks.

A young singer wants to make it big.

A dead man is discovered in the machine room of the Randlingen sanatorium and nursing home. The man is Dr. Ulrich Borstli, the director of the institution. Constable Studer from the cantonal police takes over the investigation and soon realizes: it was no accident! The hospital director must have been beaten to death with a sandbag around midnight. The search for the perpetrator and motive proves difficult. The patient Pieterlein comes under suspicion because he has been on the run since the crime. However, Studer doesn't really believe in this solution and examines the friendly façade of the psychiatrist Borstli. He soon realizes that the solution must lie in the treatment methods of the nurses and doctors...

The film deals with an imaginary journey. The visionmresulting from the desire to view an object while grasping the "workings of nature" is exposed as being itself riddled with clichees. The film, as artistic medium par excellence, offers the opportunity of reflecting on this longing in a way that is partly critical, partly also indulging in personal obsessions.

The viewer sees self-portraits of Tone Fink joined to each other, beginning with skin relics which are seen again in later scenes. A visual and oral show results through the use of self-made paper skins, image collages, dolls, garments and apparatuses.

To be looked after so lovingly - what man wouldn't want that? Bernd Vogel pins all his hopes on Renate, the attractive dancer, although he can't really complain about the care of his faithful girlfriend Berta. The friendly man with the big heart gets into a few arguments, not least because he pursues his adolescent daughter with fatherly jealousy. Nevertheless, he eventually finds the happiness he deserves.

By comparing the St. Nicholas celebrations in Islamic and Protestant communities in Berlin, the relationship between the religions is explored.

For five years Rogelio, a Chilean exile, has been in the GDR, where he works as a lighting technician at a theater. Though his colleagues try to make him feel welcome, he feels lonely and isolated.

Martina and Jürgen are lovers in the GDR. She is studying economics in Leipzig, he is preparing for his master's examination as a violin maker in Altneukirchen in Vogtland. While Martina deals with problems of modern science and technology in her thesis, Jürgen is committed to the traditions of instrument making. This leads to friction and strains the relationship. And when Martina meets her former childhood friend Peter Struck in Altneukirchen, the center of musical instrument making in the GDR, who works here as a physicist at the research institute, jealousy also comes into play.

Eight days before the wedding, Ute Forster falls in love with another man. At least that's what Mrs. Engel claims. With her clairvoyant prediction, she causes considerable confusion, as the preparations for this important event have of course already been made. But Mrs. Engel is not only a blind fortune teller, she also knows her way around Cupid's winding paths...

Two young singers rehearse Eisler's "Ernste Gesänge", his last work, in which the prompt for the film's title can also be found. What is decisive in this film is the encounter with Eisler and his music, the consistency with which he thought about art and people. You can hear tape recordings of Hans Bunge in conversation with Hanns Eisler.

An expedition decided to observe the life of the beavers - nature's engineer - in the woods of the Rocky Mountains: for the first time a beaver family was filmed in its den during the course of the season.

Images of war on TV, destruction of the TV, strolling through the night and a colorful, wild car ride through Berlin at night.

For its reproduction, the megaloprepus dragonfly specifically relies on periodic puddles in tree holes and bromeliacea in tropical rain forests. Territorial males tenaciously defend these resources. Females lay their eggs in the water holes of the territorial males and are guarded by them. Any satellite male - i. e., one without a territory - who tries to grab a female is driven away by the territorial male.

If Robert Langer had actually lived, he would have become an actor, but ultimately would not have gotten any work. He would have been involved in the much-publicized "Heino Blesser scandal" at the time, and his career would have been over. That would have been the end of it. If he had lived, people today would refer to him as a failure.

Shot in a neo-expressionist style, the film is a satire on cults of any kind. The plot follows Frankie and Hannes, a young gay couple living in Berlin. One is studying art and the other medicine. Their happy life is disrupted when Frankie attends a lecture and quickly becomes involved in a sinister cult operating as a self-help group called “Optimal Optimism”. Madame C, a former Nazi party member, is the leader of Optimal Optimism. When the cult members discovers that Frankie is gay, he is repeatedly raped by both men and women of the group. Hannes must find a way to rescue him.

Last chance saloon. In the high security prison of Moundsville, West Virginia, some convicted felons are tasked with getting a group of young delinquents back on the right track. A disturbing social experiment – fearlessly brought to the screen.

The photos show the cemetery in all its grandeur, with trees that are unusually tall for Berlin (many of the city’s forests were bombed during World War II). The audio track features former Berliners talking about the cemetery and its significance.
