The Tequila Effect

A story of love of money and power. A story of courage and bravery. It is the life of José Fierro, a man who faces the consequences of his acts when he decides to go all out; of his wife Ana Luisa, who wants to experience love and eroticism beyond what is permitted. A brave movie that reflects the best and the worst of humans, but is also a tragicomedy (as is life), full of humor, hope and self-sacrifice: the reflection of a country undergoing a permanent financial crisis, produced by the Tequila effect, but which has the virtue of not letting itself be defeated.

Zumiriki

Is it possible to travel twice to the same memory? The filmmaker built a cabin on an isolated riverbank, just opposite his childhood island, which had disappeared under the water after the construction of a dam. The goal was to go back to that place, which had become invisible. Only the trees of the island where he’d played stood firm in the middle of the water, like the masts of a broken toy boat, so the air was the only space left, the only vestige of the past to be conquered. This film is a diary of a castaway in memories: four months of a Walden experience in a lost paradise with two hens, a small vegetable garden and a clock that stopped forever at 11.36 and 23 seconds.

Amor de madre

The love that a mother feels justifies everything, a mother is capable of murder because of her child, she kills, she steals, she works the corner or any other thing that keeps her child alive; the love that a mother feels, brings up the better and the worst in every woman. Ursula (Ana Polvorosa) is a mother and she is living two tragedies at the same time, a zombie invasion and the fact that her husband left home with their son, Nicolas. To Ursula, the zombie invasion is just “an anecdote” because she, as a mother and as a woman, only cares about her missing child, helpless and alone in a world surrounded by green and crazy beings.

Orensanz

Orensanz is the antithesis of the conventional biopic. The film begins as a guided tour through one of the Lower East Side’s most singular artistic landmarks, only to unfold into a revealing journey deep into the Aragonese Pyrenees and its people. Contemporary artist Ángel Orensanz becomes the hinge between Manhattan and the remote village of Larués, Spain: an elusive, omnipresent man who seems to exist everywhere and nowhere at once. The film questions the very idea of what we understand an artist to be, searching for possible answers that may help redefine the collective imagination surrounding the figure of the creative genius.
