Little Roquefort is taking a bath while he sings about his sweetheart. Percy shows up and is curious about the picture that Roquefort has. He scratched some dramatic black-and-white abstract images, hand-coloured them, and combined them with African drum music. It's April 1, and Bluto plays a series of "jokes" on Popeye, though of course they go beyond the bounds of acceptability, particularly once they get to the picnic grounds; Bluto puts gasoline on the fire he asks Popeye to light and swaps a beehive for the lemonade. Bluto then launches a cruel joke against Olive and frames Popeye. The capper: he replaces Popeye's spinach with a joke can, and runs off with Olive for some canoeing. But Popeye gets the last laugh with an inflatable sea monster.

Moe the Hare (aka The Rapid-and-sometimes Rabid Rabbit)breaks out of jail so he can hustle down the road and marry his sweetheart. But, Tommy the Tortoise, an officer of the law who is a stickler that thinks jail-prisoners should remain in jail, turtles down the road after Moe. And he dogs after Moe, in his own fashion, until he returns Moe to jail...and winds up with Moe's girlfriend in the process.

Winter arrives and Nutsy Squirrel does not have an adequate nut supply, but he discovers a well-stacked table of nuts guarded only by a small dog. It doesn't take Nutsy long to make off with the nuts. The maid returns and finds the nuts gone, and locks the little dog out in the cold. Nutsy takes pity and invites him in to share his warm home and nuts.

In this pre-Christmas reminder to mail early, filmmaker Norman McLaren used an electric vibra-drill to engrave the images on black film, and included the occasional "subliminal" burst of lettering, which he hand-scratched on a few frames.

The animals and birds are enjoying themselves in a sunny forest clearing. A wolf is hunting in the neighboring thicket. He tracks down a deer, which flees into the clearing. There it is protected by a bear. The predator has to leave without prey. The woodpecker, jay and squirrel are now constantly on the lookout. When the wolf appears near the clearing again, the woodpecker beckons the animals to come and together they await the attack. A surprising intervention by the bear ends the wolf's life. The animals thank their savior and peace returns to the clearing.

An old prospector and his faithful mule have shared the dangers of gold-seeking together for many years until the hunt for uranium becomes a quest. The old prospector switches to a jeep and leaves his faithful mule behind. However, the jeep is not as dependable as the mule and fails the prospector in a crisis situation, and the mule goes to his rescue.

The near-sighted Mr. McGoo takes his duties as an Air Raid Warden, in the civil-defense, cold-war/iron curtain days of the 1950s, seriously. When he stumbles across the premiere of a new science-fiction movie at a theatre, he thinks his town has just been invaded by outer-space aliens. He takes the on-screen activities as part of the attack and goes through all the civil-defense steps to save the audience.

Mr. Magoo misreads a newspaper flyer thinking it is a letter from his power company saying they are shutting off his power. Outraged, Magoo heads for the power company intent on giving them a piece of his mind. However, instead of going to the power company, he goes to a newspaper printing officer by mistake getting tangled up in the machinery all the while thinking he is being given "the bum's rush". He returns to his house with the power back on thinking he has won. But the next day, he doesn't like the paper's editorial and heads to the newspaper office wanting to give them a piece of his mind!

He's deemed to be a special jewel (since he's made of emerald) and is brought to the jewel storage room, despite his wishes to be in the Land of the Toys...

The Dragon Slayer is an animated cartoon in Technicolor., and is the first film of Peanuts director Bill Melendez. It was commissione by Du Pont to explain its security plan to company employees. The story revolves around Sir Evans, a knight of old, who goes forth to battle the menacing dragons. Only through the protection of armor made for him by his trusty squire, D.I.R.P. can he slay the dragons without being singed by their fiery blasts. But knights in legends aren't the only ones to fear dragons. Most of us, like Ed Blevins, hero of this tale, have the modern-day dragons of insecurity to reckon with. But Ed, like Sir Evans, also has the protection of D.I.R.P., in this case the Du Pont Industrial Relations Plans, which are outstanding examples of how a company helps its employees help themselves.

Integrating film and painting, "Dance Chromatic" reveals that the contradiction between the desire to convey the organic growth of form and painting's lack of temporal extension led Emshwiller into filmmaking.
