When Curt's controlling daughter stays away due to an accident, Curt begins to think Marija is his deceased wife. In order to have her peace of mind, Marija plays along with the game and she realizes that this makes Curt feel better. But there is also Curt's son, who is more interested in Marija than in Curt.

Jon Katz is close to burnout. He's a writer with writer's block; his wife has left for her sister's because he's emotionally distant; he rarely answers his phone. A kennel sends him a border collie that's undisciplined because of abuse.
