The Cantonese opera film “A Wedding on the Execution Ground”, based on the large-scale modern Cantonese opera of the same name, is adapted from a true story. It tells the historical story of Zhou Wenyong and Chen Tiejun, members of the CPC, who pretended to be husband and wife for revolutionary activities in 1927, and were arrested after the failure of the Guangzhou Uprising. The two people would rather die than surrender, and dedicated themselves to the revolution with the execution ground as the marriage palace.
