The film tells the story of a group of survivors of a planetary catastrophe. They are all passengers on a train that al at the time of the disaster they were traveling from Rome to Milan. Isolated on the Apennines, after waiting in vain for help, our men set off in search of food and shelter. Until the quintet shows up I realize that the known world no longer exists and that the future promises to be a real one real nightmare. A nightmare of which ours will become full protagonists, transforming, chapter after chapter, from helpless prey to bloodthirsty hunters.

Reunited in the Florence of the 1930s, Enrico becomes his spoilt brother's keeper, forever haunted by a sense of guilty responsibility towards a man he both hates and loves.
