Not so scary movie struggles to overcome bad film editing, bad sound and bad sound mixing. Decent acting, particularly the little girl playing 'Becca. Passes the time.
In theory, bringing malevolent spirits back inside of your dead parents should be a great premise, but this fails to capitalize on it. Almost everything of any significance happens by mistake: the machine fails, the parents die in tragic accident, the spirits are summoned by mistake, the neighbor is involved, everyone does everything thinking their spirit is someone else, the girlfriend shows up on accident, hell even the spirits seem to luck into capturing someone. The movie is more depressing than intense and I honestly can't recommend. I won't be revisiting this one.
The drama aspect isn't great, but the horror aspect **sucks**. I feel like I've not just seen this a lot before, but I've seen it a lot recently. _Final rating:★½: - Boring/disappointing. Avoid where possible._
