Samar Anand (Shah Rukh Khan), a London-based struggling musician falls in love with Meera Thappar (Katrina Kaif). After a severe accident, a panicked Meera promises God to leave Samar if he lives. Heartbroken, Samar leaves for India to become a fearless bomb disposal expert in the army.

Raju, Shyam and Baburao are living happily after having risen from rags to riches. However, they lose it all after falling victim to a chit fund scam due to their greed for more money.
