Hans Reiser: Mord an der Ehefrau
In 2006, Nina Sharanova disappears under mysterious circumstances in Oakland, California. The caring mother was last seen alive when she took her children to her ex-husband Hans Reiser. The police quickly suspect Reiser, a computer programmer, as the couple was embroiled in a bitter custody battle. Reiser behaves suspiciously during the investigation: his car disappears, he tries to flee from the police, is arrested with a bag full of money and his passport, and has removed the SIM card from his cell phone. His son Rory testifies at the trial that his father was carrying a sack-sized object on the night of Nina's disappearance. Reiser eventually made a deal, led the police to Nina's body, and received a reduced sentence for manslaughter. Despite his conviction, Reiser appealed and filed a civil lawsuit.
