The Ren & Stimpy Show” is not a cartoon it’s a psychological endurance test disguised as animation, and I mean that as the highest possible praise Every episode feels like it was animated by caffeine, rage, and a deep hatred of the concept of “normal television.” Ren screams like a man possessed by demons, Stimpy is a walking biohazard of innocence, and somehow the show manages to be both grotesque and weirdly sincere at the same time The close-ups are crimes against art. The sound effects should be illegal. The jokes land like a brick to the face, then apologize by licking you. Modern animation is too clean, too polite, too afraid Ren & Stimpy looks you in the eyes, wipes its nose on your sleeve and asks if you want to see something really gross. Yes. Always yes. Would not recommend to children. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants to feel alive again.
