Albert and Eldar are members of a music label engaged in preserving folk music traditions. Their new mission takes them to a mountain village to record the last performer of an old Kabardian song. In the village they learn that the old man has gone into the mountains to die. This message marks the start of a journey, both the outer through hard country, and inner, that of overcoming, of meeting traditions, quietness and oneself.
